Electrical issues need help
My brother has a 2007 tip car in his shop that came in with a battery light. The battery was replaced and car does nothing. They replaced the ignition switch, didn’t do anything. All fuses have been checked and they are good. Disconnect battery over night and problem still persist. Owner said he had the battery post replaced a few months ago so we are ruling that out. There is power going to the car. The car acts as the ignition isn’t going to ACC at all. When we put the key in the ignition, it acts just like normal. Mileage shows up, airbag light is on, key number illustrates, radio comes on and so does all the interior/exterior lights when prompted to come on. When you turn the key…nothing changes. Nothing else’s comes on.

Ever been an aftermarket alarm or any other anti start device installed?
A starter disable will work like normal as you describe until you go to the actual start position, then it will disable the start signal. You would find a relay somewhere easy to access down from the ignition switch

There are a bunch of threads here about cables to the battery. Here's one: link
Or do some searches on battery starter cable
It seems like that's usually related to hard starting. Also, there seems to have been a TSB for '05 model years, but other years also seem to have some issues. Not sure if this is your issue - just something to look into. Apparently, it's a huge PITA, or and expensive service bill...

Does the key get locked into the ignition or come in and out. Locked in would be a voltage issue. If the key isn't recognized, you'll get an error message on the dash as I've accidentally put my wife's key into my car and seen a message to that effect.
There are a bunch of relays on a panel just above the fuse box - removal is a pain as theyre not readily visible and the side panel that holds the fuse box cover has to be removed. There are also a bunch of fusible links in the power distribution block of the battery post connection that goes through the front wall. This is what that box looks like once removed and opened up.
Then there are 2 other relay locations, both of which include a relay labelled "start lock" which sounds promising.
Relay support #1 is in the rear under the Bose subwoofer by the DME and relay support #2 is the one up above the fuse box I mentioned.
Good luck!

The amount of support that this forum provides never ceases to amaze me. This thread is just another example. Allow me to make a request of the forum and I do this so as to not start yet another "Starting Issue" thread. Is it possible to have someone post in the form of a priority list, what we as owners should check when we experience a starting issue. Most of us are aware of what the most common issues are, but what is the most logical order of inspection to most quickly and effectively identify and isolate the problem? We have all read the stories of throwing money at a starting issue only to discover that money was spent foolishly as something was fixed / replaced that was not the problem. Many thanks to all for your continued wisdom and insight.
