I test drove 2 991's a few years ago - Both silver/black but unfortunately both had the glass roofs.
If a fan of black color the glass roof would blend into design.

Sunroofs have never been my thing - weight in the wrong place and never gets used. Especially the all black glass type. If North American 997s had the RoW no-sunroof option, I'd have gone for that.

The 991 glass sunroof is ugly and heavy - Not sure why they would have added that glass as an option because it destroys the design.

Great decision, and could not agree more about glass sunroofs and the 991s! My Porsche journey over the past three years .....
I bought and sold a '15 911 with glass sunroof, which I found unsightly. Really doesn't compliment the beautiful sloping roof lines of the classic 911 shape. Looked odd. Didn't realize my full dislike until it was too late. Then I bought a '19 911 T, which lacked soul, something I found in other 991s I test drove. There was just something about it that wasn't an enjoyable daily (and it was noisy as heck), but again didn't realize until it was too late.
Finally, I recently bought an '05 997.1 base with chrono package and other goodies. That little "sport" button makes a world of difference. What a blast. A true classic with a lot of the old-school 911 feel and charm, and just a hint of modern Porsche. Sweet spot.

Original 1953 Pre-A color Jade Green w/tan interior. Bent windshield & sunroof
Car was all original paint and floors. Everything on it was original and untouched. Had it for 2 years then it was on to another 356
Original unmolested Pre-A car like this would probably fetch $375K today
Kellen---> Took this photo at the Shell station on 17th & Madison around the corner from my house. Only photo I have

I had a 55 Speedster and a 55 Emory Outlaw coupe.
Sold both of them for about 20 grand more that I paid but now worth close to 600k for the two.

^^Gary Emory was very good friends with Denny Aker owner of Aker's Porsche my 37 year Indy 5 blocks from my house.
At one of the many 356 Bull Sessions here in Seattle every year, Gary Emory explained to me that they painted the engine sheet metal tin in their Outlaws a light grey(Instead of original black) so they could easily find oil leaks.
I miss the 356 days . Was a nice group, very helpful supportive but also extremely **** about condition/originality/etc.
My 1959 356 Super Sunroof was my long timer. All original except the paint which was done at DInk Farmer's in Ukiah Calif. A master painter and known by collectors all over the world.
I got lucky knowing many of the 356 crowd heavily involved in restoration and history of these unique cars.

I've only done short test drives in the 991(2 Manual Transmission 2015's) and didn't notice that much of a difference in drivability or the assisted power steering.

Very cool.
Yep the 356 bunch is slightly different that the other Porsche crowd!
I first met Gary in 1968 when I bought my 66 911.
We've had the various 356 clubs up to our home on several occasions. The neighbors are always blown away!
About 30 356s parked in front of our home
