Default Love to see any pics of 997 car audio installs

If anyone has pics of a car audio install they did, DIY or professional, I’d love to see them in this thread.

Or, if anyone knows of another thread out there with some, please link it here.

Really great job. Love the ideas and the implementation.

Your work is outstanding and love the attention to detail. I hope mine turns out as well as yours.

I especially liked the detail on the rear speakers, milling the mounting plates and making room for the raised tweeter.

Again, nice work!

Default Ok, it’s started….

Here’s a shot of the amplifier fuse at the battery. It’s my first project. The fabrication took WAY too long, but I’m happy with the results.

Amp rack is under way! It’s been slow going but this is a labor of love for sure.

I love the audio control amps! I did an Alpine head unit with JL 6,4,tweeter in the stock locations with a JL 400/1 bridged into two channels with no sub. I don’t want the weight or a visual sub so I’m sacrificing some low end. But at least it’s clear at high volumes when Im on the HWY, I could barely hear anything before the upgrades. I love car audio 😉
Let’s see your door speaker install when you get there.

Absolutely will take pics OB917. I thought about the weight too, but am on the other side of the fence, where I care a bit more about the end product than the weight addition. With the Supercharger and the 450HP, I have plenty to burn in my mind. :-).

Thanks for the comment.

Thanks a lot. Your attention to detail and execution is great. You mentioned a supercharger - VF? I'm in the same camp as you on weight with power to spare due to the supercharger.. Just ran my mom to an eye doctor appt in mine this morning - love everything about these cars.

Yes, VF. Stop getting used to it. I had the exact same year and model previously and the difference is pretty massive. I’m with you. These things are incredible!

Anyone out there replace the base stereo amp in a 997.2? I replaced the head unit but am potentially interested in swapping out the amp under the passenger seat. Goal is to not lose any factory speakers when I do that. 7 speakers I believe?

it’s been a little while, but life and trying to do a good job just takes a long time. Lol.

Here are some updated pics from the build. I hope you approve and that it inspires more car audio pics and banter.

Deck, door speakers and fiberglass enclosures to come.

Here are the latest pics. All that’s left to do are the fiberglass subwoofer enclosures. The system sounds incredible so far.
