Crashing the party
I hope folks in the States are having a pleasant Memorial Day, and that everyone gives a moment of thought to your nation’s veterans who gave their lives to make yours better.
I’m thrilled to have purchased this 911 from @kiznarsh (and the two guys before him). I’ve been trying to get into a 911 for about 30 years, something always getting in the way.
The good news: This thing howls and I think it influences the planet’s rotation when you get on it. I can hear the voices of Hurley Haywood and Allan McNish above 5500.
The bad news: As far as writing, photography, and wrenching, my skills are at about 10%, 7%, and 4% of @kiznarsh ’s, respectively. So don’t hold your breath for the helpful, entertaining, and well-documented threads that have been associated with this car. My valve stem cap install DIY is in development.
Really long drive from LA to Chicago, but the car was great, and much better at long-haul than I’d expected. Nice roads and scenery along the way:
Storms on way at the Arby's.
Grubby after 700 miles, but I'm pretty sure I eventually killed all the bugs in North America.

Well done .... I sort of wish I purchased my car elsewhere so I could get a lengthy drive in under my belt ... As for the wrenching ..Don't worry about it ...Lots of tutorials here for DYI jobs... for the time being drive her and enjoy .... congrats !! Live is too short to let money sit in a bank account ..

You’ll learn to wrench, routine stuff fun. Say to yourself if Mano can do it I can, then dive in. Just remember to buy two of everything so when you bugger up the first one you can proceed without stopping. And know it’s normal when you take something apart and put it back together to have stuff left over.

Congrats and welcome to yet another Chi-town member! As for wrenching skills...I have NONE. Bought my 05 C2S Cab in September of 2021 and from the gang here and youtube videos, I've been able to do more than I thought I could do. It's actually a relatively simple car to work on.

Congrats on a great car. Another example that you buy the owner as much as you buy the car. You got a good one. Enjoy in good health!
