Hello hello! Glad you made a thread and happy to see more pictures of it from your trip! Hopefully there were no issues and you'll have years of enjoyment out of it.
I'm busy dealing with rust, holes caused by leaking battery acid, and faulty window regulators so ya know, classic BMW ownership of a 28-year-old car, lol. Wish I could've set up a proper photoshoot of the 997 and E36 together before you picked it up but it's all good. Happy it's found a new home.
Few photos of the 997's replacement.
Keep us updated on the car!

Missed this thread until today.
Congrats on joining the cult.
I have to echo a previous post and endorse a long road trip home with a new (to you) 997.
My 997.1 base Carrera was acquired from a divorcing friend here on Oahu. Not much to tell about that drive home.
But my 997 GTS purchase in 2016 was in Boston, MA. A 3-month roadtrip to Los Angeles via ME, Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, MI, WI, MN, ND, MT, WY, ID, OR and the entire Pacifc Coast Highway down to LA ensued. An altogether excellent way to get to know a new 911.
Memories remain fresh of a supremely capable Grand Tourer, devouring highway miles and always just two buttons (SPORT PASM setting and PSE) away from the transformation into a canyon carver extraordinaire.
18-way ***, Sirius XM sat radio and lux-legroom for a 6'4" driver...what's not to like?
As usual, brevity is not my forté, but suffice to say:
Congrat's on your purchase and happy motoring to you in your high smiles per gallon 997.

That thing look really nice, although I was hoping to see some proper vanity plates on it.
Funny that I was looking for some photo opportunities with wind farms on the way back from LA. The terrain didn't cooperate.
Good luck with the M3, it is lucky that you found it.

Way to leverage the new investment. I go to Montreal a lot (just saw the GP last week). I hope you got to stop at Schwartz's, or at least get some poutine.

Your best bet for wind farms would've been to head towards Palm Springs but that would've been a detour. Next time.

Car looks great and congrats. From the looks of it you shouldn't have to turn a wrench for a while on anything serious.
