@FastAlpine

Love following along with both builds. Thank you! Your white 997 is beautiful!

Two questions:

How was the ride with the 20" CH wheels versus the 19" LMs or other 19" wheels you've had on the car? You mentioned wanting to go with a 30 series sidewall on the rears, did you ever end up doing that? The ride was decent with the 20" BBS and standard PASM, with PASM Sport it was not enjoyable. The 20" on the Red 997 with the standard suspension and H&R springs it was tolerable, much better with 19"s and the standard suspension. I never changed the rears to a 30 series, a neighbor down the street is buying the wheels for his 991.2 T which will work well on that car.

Second is about the head unit - can you point me in the right direction to exactly which one you got and can a backup camera be used with it? Yes I used an owtowsin unit from aliexpress. It was around $300 at the time. It looks like they no longer carry the model I used. See here for units similar that support a backup camera. HERE

Also take a quick read through this thread HERE (Start at page 50ish), lots of good info in there.

Oil Change: Driven DT40 w/ Hengst filter

Shifter Cable Retainer: Rennline HERE

After a nice drive to eliminate any condensation in the oil, I performed an oil change with DT40, inspected oil and filter and engine for any leaks/debris. Oil change was uneventful and no leaks from RMS or otherwise noted.

I also picked up the shifter cable retainer kit from @Rennline a few weeks ago and installed them, it took less time than dropping the access panel, super simple install and now one less thing to worry about that could leave me stranded.

Oil being sent off to Blackstone, this was a transition from Mobil 1 that was swapped out last year with the first oil change to DT40. Will gather another sample with DT40 the next oil change.

Will be getting an alignment in the next week or so, I think the toe is out slightly as it "slithers like a snake" at higher speeds (80+).

Will try and get close to GT3 spec as possible.

Great build in here my friend! Honored that you chose some of our goodies to be a part of it! On a side note, we all debate around the office on what color wheels look best on Guards Red. I'll be using your car as fuel for team silver!

Silver or some combination of silver or grey almost always looks best! For some reason white centers on a white car works.

2008 911 C2 Aero
Mileage: 19915

Alignment completed to GT3 Specs.

Front Specs:
Toe: .05
Camber: -1.5
Caster: 8.3

Rear Specs:
Toe: .20
Camber: -1.8

Car drives much more purposefully without that slithering effect. Much more confident at speed, turn in is a bit sharper.

Tech said the rear toe was pointed in same direction and toe upfront was out to a small degree.

Next up is a suspension refresh.....in the near future.

Will that require another alignment?

Most Likely....I want to do coil-overs. But that's a winter project.

beautiful I’m on similar alignment.

I just replaced my front control arms/thrust and rear thrust. Really helped the driving feel.
