Thumbs up It took 41 years. but I finally purchased a Porsche 911

Hey Guys,

I've been on here since god knows how long. Always loved 911s and finally decided to purchase one after looking off and on for years. Yesterday I (on paper) acquired a 2007 C2S Cabrio bone stock manual transmission in silver/black. It feels weird to come back here after so long on Ferrari chat (I acquired a Ferrari 360 back in 2011) but I need something more practical for date nights with the wife or even to just take around town, to the gym, etc...

I'm supposed to pick up my car Monday barring any unforeseen complications. Can't wait to share pics and a few light modifications when time permits.

Awesome. Totally different cars. You will miss the exhaust orchestra but little else except some of the attention they attract. Cheers

Congratulations!
I just came from the same scenario. Owned a 550 Maranello, currently an FF, and just purchased a 2010 C2S to replace that.

Should be a fun ownership experience, I feel like I'll have much less anxiety about driving it and just enjoy! Look forward to hearing about your experience.

25K miles on a Ferrari removes more value than 125K miles on a 997. Get out and enjoy the drive.

Congratulations. Nothing else drives like them with the rear engine platform and when properly maintained, they're super reliable. You'll love it

Welcome to the club! Lots of us 'round here that didn't/couldn't make the Porsche jump sooner. It's never too late. Hope the car is great and you get lots of happy miles.

Congrats on the new 997; I've had mine (coupe) for going on 18 years and still in love - where in Jersey?. Is the avatar your wife (or the one you take out on date nights?) ?

Nothing to miss thankfully as I'm keeping the 360. It's a manual too and I could never part with it.

Love 550s!

That's what I'm looking forward to most. As much as I love the 360 it's increased in value substantially and it's just not useable for daily activities.

No that is Karolina Kurkova from Victoria Secret before they went to **** with using ugly girls, though my wife did come from the Guess catalogue. I'm from Basking Ridge but live in Tewksbury now, HBU?

It’s good while it last but eventually you will have to decide between your wife or your mistress. Just saying.

A few photos. I spent the weekend enjoying the great weather before the late fall freeze kicks in. Also removed the tint the previous owner had over the headlights and taillights.

Initial impressions? Why the heck did I wait so long to get one of these. The stock exhaust has a nice growl and the car is just a load of fun. Cruising with the roof open really brings a smile to my face.
