Default 2009 Carrera S Question

I have to take my 09 in for maintenance and Im wondering if I should get the oil changed in the PDK transmission. Its got 35K on it but it is 13 years old.
Ive heard before that you shouldnt mess with the PDK that you dont need to change the oil in it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes. It’s part of the recommended service interval. Both fluids, clutch and gear.

Isn't the recommendation PDK fluid change every 60K miles or 10 years whichever comes first? Seems like I saw this somewhere, right or wrong. I don't think changing the PDK pan is mandatory with the fluid change so I guess that's up the the dealership or indy to decide if necessary or not.

i did the PDK clutch oil fluid and the new pan at 7 years and 47K. Our 09’s needed a new pan because the drain plug failed on removal, poor design, the newer pans don’t do that.
I didn’t do the transmission fluid till I had the PDK temp sensor failure and fix at 63K and rather than just add fluid, I opted for a flush and fill.

PDK clutch pack fluid the factory says 60k miles or 6 years. I think that is way too long...

would have cost me $2K, still had my Fidelity 6 year warranty, which now ends 9/27/22
only $250 deductible.
can no longer renew Fidelity warranty, car has to be 10 old or less.

When I was researching this service, I came across a lot of misinformation on the web, as well as with the local Porsche dealer and local independent shop here. Most people just don't read the Porsche recommended maintenance schedule. The Porsche dealer here admitted that the majority of owners just don't do the service (911's or other models with PDK's) - which I think is a big mistake with a transmission this costly and sophisticated. The Porsche dealer however also conveyed that the incidence of PDK failure in their experience is almost zero.

PDK clutch fluid change - every 60k miles or 6 years (whichever occurs first.) PDK gear oil change - every 120k miles or 12 years.

It seems to make sense that if you drive your PDK car especially aggressively, particularly in a hot climate location, that you would want to have these services done more frequently. Heat is the enemy of these transmissions.

OP - your car is due for both to be done.
