12volt kit
Absolutely great. I love Carplay in any car with its updated apps etc. - and having this in the 997.2 is, for me, a very welcome modern upgrade.
Can't say anything negative about the Mr. 12 Volt box, it really is fully functional Carplay as with any other car – to me, no difference what so ever using Carplay.
Sound is great (no pops, no cracks, no low volume or any other trouble), telephone calls are great (just using the Porsche fitted microphone) and the box doesn’t interfere with normal PCM function - everything else, buttons, menus etc. work as before. Selecting Carplay is done by pressing source and choosing TV, that’s it. Everything else in the PCM is normal.
I don’t use SIRI, but be aware, that SIRI can’t use the built in microphone (the Carplay telephone works fine with the built in microphone), and if you use SIRI and don’t want to have the supplied microphone fitted, there is a fix for that, tapping into the original wire harness microphone cables, see this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...l#post18228622
Now looking into installing a backup camera, it seems easy, as the Mr. 12 Volt box is prepared for this. I just have to connect the backup camera RCA cable to the Mr. 12 Volt box and configure the settings.

Anyone else have an issue with the Carplay (any app!!) GPS location lagging/freezing or thinking you're in a different location? The OEM nav in my C2S is fine, but my P2000 carplay consistently acts up. Not sure if it's an issue with my phone or the unit...

Lots of issues since the recent carplay updates.

Geeting ready to get the 911/997.2 out of winter hibernation on the road again. Relly disappointed that Mr. 12 Volt still hasn’t fixed the reverse cam issue on the 997.2. No new firmware’s or fixes through the winter. Really disappointing.
As I recall the new firmware actually broke the 12-volt reverse light trigger – I will test this in the spring, as I was ready to go down this road because I did not want to wait any further, it’s been almost two years now. If the 12-volt trigger is broken, then I am stuck and can not get the reverse camera working as advertised.
Otherwise, it is a great product for the 997.2. Still hoping they get the reverse cam fixed.

I am the original author of this thread and with a 997.2 PDK, and as you can read in this thread, my experience is that the P2000 with the newest firmware now recognize when the PDK is in reverse, but the camera functions still do not work, and I have probably lost the 12-volt trigger as well. See these posts:
Post showing that my 12- volt trigger no longer works with the newest firmware: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post19007760
Post showing that my my camera is working with the older firmware and 12-volt trigger, but these old firmware do not recognize when PDK is in reverse: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post19006798
Post also showing that the 12-volt trigger and camera works on the older firmware: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post18943332
Best regards,
Thomas

As an additional data point mine's a 987.2 and I haven't had any issues with the latest Mr12Volt firmware or any Apple CarPlay updates. 12V reverse camera trigger from the reverse light is still working fine.
I have a manual but as I noted above I set DIP switch 1 to "on", that enabled the turn lines moving with the steering wheel in the reverse camera.
