Talking 997-7s cab stiffening

Anybody had experience stiffening up a 997-1s cab. my car creaks with the top up when i go up or down our drive way at an angle. I don't hear it when the top is down. Any ideas? Is it a top latch adjustment or just the way it is? I've had coupes and targa's neither of which did it but......Thanks for the help John

I never noticed Flex with top up or down when I owned my 2006 Cabriolet 2 yrs ago. Perhaps your top is not securing tight enough?
Not sure of there are adjustments to tighten the clamping mechanism but assume that would help a great deal.

I have the same issue. It really only happens on one section of the road about a mile from my house. Other than that I never seem to notice it.

Treat the top seals with Gummi Pflege. Do the door and window seals, while you're at it. Apply using the bottle applicator, wait a few minutes, and then wipe away and buff the excess off.

My car is a coupe and it does this when sitting over night in cooler temps when I back up from the drive onto the street while turning sometimes.... Totally normal ...

My '06 cabriolet does the same thing, most notably driving at an angle up/down driveway ramp

All cabs I have owned squeak and flex a little across the windshield. The Porsche is the one with the least amount I have ever seen, period, better than most 2 seaters - the worst was an MG-F. Try driving a Camaro convertible from 2021 - your Porsche will seem like a stiff board in comparison.

it is ok. You’re correct. Car flex a bit (torsional is more noticeable). I can tell when I leave my driveway and turn, it squeaks a bit in the top of windshield. Completely normal. However, This car is really stiiff. I had mine with one front wheel about 1 inch in the air ( for a moment) when maneuvering it and backing it to get in its parking space. No problem at all. Convertibles sooner o later will squeak under certain conditions.

Yep. Read that some time ago. Nice that Porsche started with cabriolet in mind when designing the structural integrity. I like how it rides and feels. Thanks for the reference!

When Guntherwerks were developing the 993 restomod, testing showed the cab has 66% less structural rigidity than the coupe. Not sure how improved it was made by 997 gen. All soft top Cabs are compromised to some degree
