Looking for some advise on 2007 911
I would be interested in your thoughts on this cab? Looking for a fun weekend car with low miles?
Thanks

Nice car !
With the Tiptronic no risk of engine over revolution, this gear box is not so fast than the PDK but it's not bad.
Year 2007 means the engine is equipped with the new type of IMS roll bearing, so normally no issue.
You have to check carefully the bore scoring of cylinders, it can happens on this type of engine at low mileage or sometimes never but the repair cost is very high !
Difficult to verify, the best way is a camera check inside cylinders, often when it happens the left exhaust tip is black because of oil consumption but it depends on the stage of progress.
It's for this reason I bought a phase II 6 years ago, the price for repair was about the same than the price difference between phase I and phase II.

My suggestion is to test drive the car to see if you are okay with Tiptronic transmission. I had a Tiptronic before my current manual car, Tiptronic is not bad but it is still a conventional automatic transmission. It likes to start on 2nd gear unless you floor it (mine defaulted on 2nd gear and slammed to first gear when I floor the car) or put it in sport mode to start on 1st gear. I always think the transmission upshifts too quickly and slow to downshift unless you use the steering control.
I suggest go with 997.2 with PDK if you want to stick automatic transmission; a much better transmission and worth the extra money IMHO. I personally rather have a higher miles 997.2 PDK than a low miles Tiptronic.
Bore check is a must for 997.1 and 997.2. We have seen failures on both, lesser extend on 997.2.

I wouldn't buy a 997 unless you see it in person and have full PPI and Bore Scope Inspection performed. (I've purchased total of 5)
I'm a manual trans person and PDK have less value if comparing. That color combo isn't my favorite and not sure what the market is for silver w/that light tan.
Also don;t let mileage scare you - There are many nicer higher mileage 997's out there that have been driven & cared for like they should. Mine has 106K miles and I purchased it 5 months ago - It is nicer/tighter/cleaner than many 997's with 1/2 the miles. Bore scope and PPI came back excellent which is very important.
Always be diligent buying these cars and enjoy the hunt.

If color and transmission are what you want go for it. Price seems about in line. If you wanted to save some money I’d look for a higher mileage car.
Some minor wear on dash lap timer and door handle area. TPMS doesn’t seem to be working or needs to be driven.

As an example after quick search here's a 2006 C4 Cabriolet in Portland--->Manual trans w/black interior 89K miles for $39,900 - There is a great Indy shop for PPI close by this dealership called Marque Motors and they do PPI-Bore Scope.
Also want to make sure it has the later engine which can easily be checked out - The later engine began about mid 2005 production and has larger more robust IMS Bearing.
