Default Cam shaft deviation

Could someone provide feedback on these numbers? I now have a cylinder 5 misfire with rough idle and running. Car has a noticable shake when idling

How many miles on your car?

I seem to remember Camshaft Deviation #'s problematic when #'s reach 5.0 or so?
Bank 1 at 4.8 looks like it is close to 5.0 and Bank 2 at 3.9 almost 4 not that far behind.
The Camshaft #'s on the 2 997's I had PPI's done recently were in the 2.0/ & 1.8 range which was not an area of concern according to feedback. Both cars had higher mileage at 87K and 95K

I am not sure if 4.8 degrees would cause the engine to idle badly. But if something is wrong with your cyl 5, that would cause a bad idle. Pull the plug on that 5 and read it.

Those deviations are in spec, it’s most likely the plug, coil pack, or injector.

I would start by looking at the plug.

you could also get out a stethoscope and put it on injector 4 while running. They make a very distinctive click when working properly. Then move to 5 and compare.

There is (was) a Jake Raby YT video discussing camshaft deviation if you want to search for it. Best wishes.

That's in line with mine at -1.49 and -1.53 degrees at 71 K miles (3.6 liter).

Here's how to get the data with the Fox 530 reader-

Foxwell NT530 Porsche 996 2003 Camshaft deviation: confirmed (foxwellsupport.com)

Just remeasured at 81.5K miles, now reading -1.39 Bank 1 and -1.79 Bank 2. Same reader.
