(axl886: love the over-the-top shot)

What I meant about preferring the "pure, un-jigged, un-decorated, unembellished form: no stripes, no wings, simple badging, stockish rims," I really meant the external look. Internally, go nuts: the exhaust needs a boost, so does the sound system; clear side markers, sure, not a profane change. And spacers are not a bad idea in some cases; a little lowering is not a totally heinous crime for the purist. But (as a purist might say), watch out for over-doing lips and skirts. They can sometimes look like glued on pieces and interrupt the clean look.

Though it is there, I don't even like the "Carrera" when a simple "911" (or "997") would have done (names can be seen as a little cheesey, even if the name is based on a Mexican car race).

As for anything extra that says "Porsche" on it, well, for me, everyone one knows what kind of car it is, so that is overkill.

And of course, this is just one person's opinion.

Ok so everyone is doing the clear side markers. I guess for me if everyone is doing it, then I do the opposite. Kinda like the stock market in a way if everyone is selling, then I am buying. If everyone is buying I am either holding or unloading. I just don't want to be a follower in a way, if that makes any sense, it seems kinda gimmicky, doesn't add any HP, the look to me seems roughly the same clear or yellowish. Maybe I just don't get it of course. I do however look to see if they are on clear side markers, it sort of tells me the person driving the car followed the trend as a sort of mental marker of their following Porsche trends.

Come on, "Carrrrrera" is so sexy - go ahead say it rolling the r's. "911" is just like any other numbered car; plus, since 9/11 not good vibe to me at least -don't like to be reminded day in day out-almost lost my sister in those buildings...

Crazy how it can bring such polarized emotions, right?

Grüezi 369,

I love driving the Alps in your country, but not your rigorously enforced speed limits. The fines are outrageous!

I am also a fan of the Sport Classic look, and am contemplating an OEM-looking ducktail on my 997 GTS.
What brand is yours?

Lastly, what is the significance of "Manu" on your tail?
I know it is a somewhat common first name, the Sanskrit word for "original man" and the stock symbol for the Manchester United Football Club...here in Hawaii it is the native word for "bird".

I only know that since it is on my Hawaii Air National Guard squadron patch (Strong Bird), and it's our ATC radio comm callsign:

Grüezi! Yes I agree the speed limit is atrocious... but the mountain passes are all good and Italy is just next door

This is the Misha ducktail, slightly less aggressive than the Sport Classic one and you keep your original rear light LED bar.

Manu is the nickname of the car, is an abbreviation of a longer version of the name - Manuel/Manuella.

I now like the stock factory look. Wings, splitters, graphics, etc give a real boy racer look, which now I am too old for.

Nothing against those who like a heavily cosmetically modded car because I used to be one of them. :-)
