Yes agree! Sport Springs/coil overs and spacers are all that is needed for external looks…rims/ wheels are personal taste so very subjective….I do sometimes like duck tails on coupes only for the sport classic look, to me cabs look off with a rear spoiler…IMO best ever Porsche 911 Gen in terms of looks….perfect blend of the classic and modern….timeless

Stock height with the Sport PASM is, for me, perfect (I have spacers, clear side markers & Sharkwerks bypass - I expect those mods would get a nod of approval from many Porsche product development people). But, it's really hard to do better than Grant Larson:

I'm totally with the OP. There is just something so clean about an unmolested, stock 997. I favor the black and silver coupes. But MAN are there some beautiful cars in this thread! Here are a couple shots of my new whip. I've only had her for about two weeks now. I probably need to lay off driving her so much... but I can't help myself! One solo shot, one kissing my wife's car. We still have to take the 911 and the 'Stang to the track together for a little fun. But that'll happen soon enough.

Not unmolested, clear side markers.

Me too !! Love stock other than side markers, 992 lip and shoes oh and a billet aluminum fuel cap ....Something to be said about the understated OEM look .... There's a reason well kept all original cars fetch more cash. Mod's are a fad which passes as you get older unless you track your car..

I agree with you. I think also the less you twist it around the higher the probability of recouping your investment as more people feel comfortable with an unadulterated vehicle in near stock/mint condition as possible. However, one thing that drove me insane with the 997 is the poor sound quality. So, I kept the original head unit, to make sure that the interior look remained the consistent with stock look, replaced all the speakers with a higher-end speakers and added an replacement amplifier which is under a hidden panel in the frunk. Looking at the outside and inside it looks stock, the sound is very good. I don't have blue tooth but it has plenty of CDrom on board if I get tired of radio stations. Usually I only listen to the stereo when I am alone, by gf and I usually talk to each other in the car when she is with me (shocking I know).
I would also say there are a sufficient number of higher priority items that a 997 owner will need to address, if they have money burning a hole in their wallets. Like the coolant reserve tank which is notorious for cracking, water pump replacement, coil replacement, clutch/pressure plate job, fluids to change, rear shocks, replace motor mounts, serpentine belt, pulleys, air and cabin filters, getting rid of curb rash on wheels, brake pads/rotors etc. Mine is 2007, so your looking at 14 year old car that is nearing 100K miles, and its going to be needing some attention for sure if you plan on having it run right for a while longer. So maybe factor that into you modification ideas before you spend money on something that is "nice to have" vs "must have" and having to find reduced cost OEM parts etc.

I did contemplate getting a duckbill at 1 point in time, but think it will prolly be a 5 min torrid love affair (for me), YMMV.
Not sure if it's considered OEM+, but happy with the mods that I did - Apex wheels, Eibach springs, Topgear x-pipe, Kistudios headlight trim, model designation decals on lower door edge. Not that you can see any from this angle though, haha.
