Just an update on having difficulties removing the PDK gearbox cover. My mechanic built another custom tool to pull the cover out and he was successful. He had to use a 1/2" thick steel plate to make sure it would not flex when screwing the bolts to pop the cover. It worked!
The defective PDK position sensor was replaced with a new position sensor from https://t-design9.com/ and that solved my PDK transmission problem! The car has been running smoothly for over a week now... what a relief.
I intend to go to a local track (Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta) with it in September and see how it handles more stressful conditions.

I sure will!
T-design9.com says they used 2020 technology, did extensive temperature testing, etc. I am confident it will do well.
My mechanic put Motul 300 75w90 gear fluid in gearbox. He suggested I change it every year if I go to the track a few weekends a year, just to be on the safe side. Normally, you change that fluid every 12 years / 120,000 miles.

I have a 991 with a defective placement sensor, I ordered from t-design the sensor, and now the gear is removed from the car, I wanted to know how you built the special tool that holds the gear ⚙️ in place, maybe you have any schematics?

Edit: Even on the 991 2WD the lower cap sticks out farther than on the Cayman so the tool may still need to be modified. You might search Ebay for photos of PDK transmissions out of the car so you can see the differences.

Pretty sure the bolt holes are in the same place but that's just based on looking at photos. Bigger concern if it's an AWD PDK (c4, turbo) as the that plate design won't work with a protruding drive shaft.
Edit: Even on the 991 2WD the lower cap sticks out farther than on the Cayman so the tool may still need to be modified. You might search Ebay for photos of PDK transmissions out of the car so you can see the differences.

Good afternoon. We're a shop in Burbank, CA and we're currently attempting the repair for the distance sensors on a 2012 911. New sensor from T9 is in, and in putting the case back together, I cannot push the bearings on the shafts enough to install the snap rings back in place for both shafts. This is a 2wd. I've removed the case a second time to see if something was binding, but nothing I can see. Was just wondering if anyone had faced the same issue, and how it was resolved.
