Three Wheelin'
For the 987 / 981, the caps are 9G1-321-360-00 and 9G1-321-361-00 - different for each shaft?
Can anyone confirm?
They are not listed in my 987 parts diagram, but appear to be listed in the 981 diagram?
Thanks (says the Cayman S PDK in bits at the moment).

If you search Sunset Porsche Parts it says there is no "361" part but it does come up with the "360" part. Where did you get the 361 number?

Thanks amet. The first one says NSK 30TM07U2 but I can't find a specific bearing by that number. It's a single row deep-groove type and looks like the OD is 80mm, same as the second bearing. Can you measure the ID and thickness? They look different from the second bearing in the photo.
The second one is NSK TM208U40AL and it's single row deep-groove type sized 40mm x 80mm x 18mm. I think this link is a Chinese copy but it has good info:
https://www.tradebearings.com/tm208u...ct-217244.html
Edit: Link is for reference only, I would not recommend putting Chinese copy bearings in your transmission (or anything else for that matter)!

I'll check the thickness and ID next time I am there... remember, this is for 4S and this shaft goes through for the front wheel drive. 2S and cayman/boxster might have a different one, I'll check that as well.
edit: I wonder if the colour of the bearing cover is important to deal with the gear oil

Macan's so called "PDK" is not really a Porsche PDK. It uses Audi's famous(for failing) DL501 0B5 DSG that can be found in most Audi A4, A5 B8 and more.
Porsche took Audi's 0B5 additionally optimized & revised the control module to the best possible configuration thus, highly responsive and much more reliable. They dont fail as often as Audi's but they do fail at some point, I have fixed a few Macans.
First version of 0B5s are trash
Second version is much better
Porsche's version is the best
If you know 0B5 well enough, any faulty displacement or pressure sensor will just require to replace the whole control module

Frankly, we do not even have the standard tool to open this specialty nut/km(step6).
We just fabricate the tool according to its size/measurement. Will upload a pic soon

5th Gear
Gearbox cover won't come out, moves by 1/8" only
Damien Law, my mechanic got my 2011 Cayman S PDK out, built a custom tool like you suggested in seventh step but the gearbox cover will only come out by 1/8". All the screws have been removed, including the bolt perpendicular to the other ones, and the bolt from the top cap side. The snap ring from the bottom cap side was also unclipped. He is afraid to break the case if he screws the two screws more. Any idea what could be wrong?

have 2 shafts started moving inside the bearings? Is there any dirt on the part of the shaft that was sticking out? That could prevent it from going through the bearing.
