Hi everyone. I have purchased a 997.2 GTS lid to replace my C2S lid. I posted about this here (with pictures of the two lids).

However, I have now seen an ad on eBay for a C2S lid which says:

"Does NOT fit Carrera GTS or power-kitted engines. If you wish to use it for anything else please do your research before bidding (unlike when I bought it!). I bought this used about 3 years ago...however when I asked my local indy check fit it, it turns out that there different intake etc on top of the power-kit engine means it won't go on."

Is this correct? The indy that sold me the GTS lid told me it would fit and all the research I am doing for part numbers (here) suggests they should all be the same.

EDIT: Is it possible my car has the X51 power kit and that's why the GTS lid will fit? How can I tell if it has the X51 powerkit?

I’m not 100% on this but if you have x51 your air intake box will be carbon like this

I think it should fit. I think the only diff is the 2nd vent hole the x51 needs.

I also think I’ve seen several part numbers for the same parts just based on gts or not. My Indy said any 997 would physically fit but the .2 or x51 would have the needed 2 vent holes.

I’ll buy that from you if it doesn’t end up working out

Thanks for the reply. So since posting I've confirmed I DON'T have x51. I have a standard gen 2 C2S.

So do standard gen 2s have 2 vent holes as standard then?

In terms of you buying the lid from me. It arrived today...
damaged (corners bent).

My gts has 2 vent holes.

I think all 997.2s have two vent holes.

Refund or seller pays for repair and respray for not taking the time and effort to ensure it gets to you undamaged. If you go the repair and respray route Carrera white is very easy to color match.

Thanks. They've offered to pay for the repair but not a respray (on the basis I was probably always going to need it respraying anyway and they did warn me it was scratched a bit.

Not sure if that's some kind of option or maybe a 991 or 992 GTS but my 997 GTS doesn't have that carbon intake.

I lied. The only x51 I’d ever seen irl had that carbon air box. I learned yesterday that’s just an option. Not indicative of x51.
