GTS Cars For Sale On The Web

It just hammered at $82,550 and over $86K all-in. Not bad for a higher-mileage car. I am pleased to see this result.
The 6MT RWD Coupe on BaT hammers in just over an hour.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...arrera-gts-38/
Current bid is $69K.
I am guessing the 92K mile odometer will keep it under $80K.
My prediction is a $77K hammer, about $80K all in.

6MT RWD Coupes continue to bring the $ on BaT, PCAR and of course RF and GP sites.
I am somewhat urprised by the $86K result, as the new owner will incur some substantial costs to rectify the few shortcomings.
Four bidders brought it up to $78.5 (my prediction above was $77K), and then two duked it out to the sale price of $82.5K.
Beauty of an auction and a great data point for this thread.
As far as mileage adding or subtracting from value- @Busta Rib is correct- well maintained cars trump high mile depreciation.
But, @ltcjmramos 's 97K-mile PDK RWD GTS Coupe (with excellent maintenance records and a full body repaint) only fetched $52K on PCAR.
That was 2 months ago...
A "basket case" with accident history PDK RWD Coupe with 36K-miles brought a scant $56.5K on the same platform recently.
I remain convince that the trifecta 6MT/RWD/Coupe is the preferred higher value configuration for contemporary and future buyers.
That's not to say that any variety of 997 GTS with lowish miles, in impeccable condition and with no stories will not continue to reliably fetch between $85 and $100K.

I agree with your premise- but don't follow other 997.2 model auction results closely enough to reach that conclusion.
Makes sense, though.
As models age into "classic" status, the convenience of a PDK in commuter/urban traffic becomes a non-factor/detriment in resale value. While "enthusiasts" are likely out-numbered by run of the mill 911 buyers- they seem to compete with each other to bid up the manual RWD coupes on auction sites. Fewer 7.2 manuals produced, and a taste for RWD/Coupes = solid appreciation.
And they presumably pay the RF/GPM site premium for them, as well. That's just a hunch based on ask prices, though.
The unique WB/RWD/NA/6MT/Coupe combo of the 997 GTS is particularly favored by bidders. And the auction results reflect that.
Makes sense, though.

Coupe > Cab
MT > PDK
RWD > 4WD
This generally applies not only to 997.2 models but really all 911's dating back to 993 to the current 992 generation today.

Very similar, but two different Meteor Gray Metallic PDK RWD Coupes... and the pictures on the PCA site sure look like the Bay Area coastline near Burlingame. PCA ad says seller is in San Francisco.
Probably both are within spitting distance of each other- what are the odds?
Porsche Burlingame Porsche dealer car:
https://www.porscheburlingame.com/ce...765266282c.htm
PCA Classified car:
http://mart.pca.org/ads/65180
I like the PCA car for $10K less, 5K miles less (16.5K s 11.2K) and full leather! $130K build.
Both have P17 (SPASM and LSD) but the PCA car has some very cool exclusive aesthetic options like XSA/XAJ/CAB/XUA/XUB/XXJ/XME/XWS/XSC/XLG and XXB. Wow. (Combined with full leather, almost $10K in options)
No CPO warranty on it, but for the $10K you save over the dealer car at ask price, buying an aftermarket plan to protect from PDK failure would be prudent. What is the value of a CPO warranty these days? $3-5K?
If either car was a 6MT, with the condition and low miles, both would probably already be bought by RF or GP and listeed on their site for $120-$135.
The PCA car is a real value, IMO, especially if the seller will accept 5 or 6K less.

Three strikes against it (Cab, PDK with no CPO warranty and AWD) as far as auction valuation, and an interior detail would have helped. Mismatched brands of tires between axles is indicative of a less than knowledgeable/false economy (read cheap) owner.
No maintenance records (depicted or mentioned) on a 13-year old car might also present a headwind.
But, a $133K build and a lowish 43K miles might save the day.
Registration history in 4 southern states with little apparent rear suspension corrosion.
As presented, without additional information from the seller...$76K, close to $80K all in, is my hammer prediction.
