I don't have a dog in this fight so don't really have interest in debating this further - I'll just watch from the sidelines and focus on the technical threads that are more interesting to me anyway.

Those interested in paying the premium for a something like this 4k mile mint, 997.2 GTS with a manual are probably not cross shopping older turbos.

Except in the Turbos, it matters far less because of the Mezger engines and only 2 potential issues - the coolant pipes that need to be welded or pinned and the cam gear. 2009s are also 997.15 models as they're part 997.1 and part 997.2. Also, in my original post when I said I'd rather have a Turbo or GT3 over a GTS for similar money, I didn't specify that it had to be of a certain generation, because in those cars it really doesn't matter.

Okay, so here is what we have:
2009 997.1 Turbos with manuals at $??? (your link has only tiptronic Coupes, not manuals) for 20k to 30k mile samples (bet a 4k mile example would be $$$s)
997.2 GTS manual with 4k miles for ???? $85k to $90k
997.2 Turbos (Real ones) with manuals in for $125k for 25k mile examples (be super expansive with only 4k miles)
They are all nice cars. Take your pick. Any of these with only 4k miles and manual are going to get pricey quick though.

I have many time over the years on here recommended the 2009 just for those reasons (last Mezger with updated interior and etc.), but again . . . the 2009 turbo is considered a 997.1 (similar to the 2013 Turbo being a 997.2) and the 997.1 Turbos are (rightly or wrongly) lagging behind in price, especially when compared to 997.2 tts with manuals. One could also go out and get a 996 tt, a car which I actually like as well, for a lot less money than a 997.2 GTS, but that is apple to oranges as well.

I agree.
There is no comparison.
The GTS is a WB rear-wheel drive and NA engine.
This is a completely different target audience - and this is also a different driving experience.
Personally, I could buy tt or GTS and I did not hesitate and preferred GTS (with me forever).
In my opinion, this is a more special vehicle - and for me there is no substitute for an NA vehicle and rear-wheel drive.
GT3 is already an option. The main downside for me of the GT3 is that it does not have rear seats (and the price ..)

I also need rear seats as I have a 9 year old daughter. I primarily kept 911s as a daily drivers throughout the years because I have children (25 and 26 year old daughters as well) and needed the back seats,
GT3s really don't excite me. I had 3 GT3 cup cars and have long switched over to Ferrari Challenge cars for track toys and have a Performante for a weekend car. I view the Porsche 911 as more of a daily, do everything well car which the GT3 is not.

Yea, except it wasn't. Here's 5 turbos all with fewer than 30,000 miles, for under $90k and one in the $60s and if you're talking about that GTS at $114k then all but one of those in the search below is similar money or less. Though I selected MT in the search box,it still threw in some Tips, as we know that the Tiptronic cars sell for less.

This one is especially well equipped for $85k with Sport Chrono, PCCBs, Adaptive seats, etc right in the mid-80s where I said they could be found with under 30k miles - https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

Kinda shady here:
All 3 of the 2009 997.1 Turbo Coupes in your link are Tiptronics. The 2009 Tiptronic Coupe with 9k miles is $96,000.
Why are you linking 2009 Tiptronic Turbos?

When does your 992 Turbo S arrive so you can move on from this pedestrian 997 forum?

Doug, WTF - not shady. My sentence above the link clearly stated that although I selected MT in the search criteria that it included Tips anyway and acknowledged they were worth less, which is why I created a separate link to the one that is a MT under 30k with PCCBs for $85k.

I also think we are talking about GTS up for auction which I think everyone here is anticipating $85k to $90k.
And you are way more passive aggressive than I am outright aggressive as that link was shady unless you did not realize every 2009 in there was a Tiptronic except for the $100k Friedman car which was not under $90k as you represented in what you wrote.

. One of my closest friend just inherited about a 70 car collection after his father passed. He had stuff like a Gen I Viper with 800 miles, Testerossa with 1,500 miles, old Mercedes SLs with 2k or less miles and etc.
I took both the Viper and the Testerosss out on NCM Motorsports Park and had a blast in them with no issues. I was worried the Ferrari would break, but nadda.

I thought we were playing a guessing game on the price, not debating its significance against other models...

Sure, it's in post 2, but that's not from the OP. Re-read posts 1-5 and consider how discussion forums work on the interwebs.
Whatever...

I'm completely sorry, I forgot it was post number 2. Between too many pointless comments like your recent one and others above it, I completely forgot the nature of the thread. I won't let it happen again I promise. I feel horrible, just absolutely horrible... don't rat me out to a moderator, I'm begging you Jack...
I bet there's a late push, I may be high at 88k it's interesting. I haven't seen a lower mile for sale 997.
