I did a core exchange for a new Wheel, Shifter, Arm Rest and Ebrake for under $1k using https://www.ebay.com/str/dctmotorsports
The results are amazing. Extra padding in the steering wheel and I chose to use leather as the center line on the wheel and rest in Alcantara. Plug and play. Really changed the interior.

Thanks. Given how many people have done this, I was beginning to think that I missed out on some big secret, as buying new and going to a dealer seemed to look like a better options. LOL

cant wait to see this on your car!
Finally after many searches I was able to find a complete OEM 991.2 smaller GT wheel with the black trim in my color with an airbag! It came as a PDK wheel but I purchased the manual rear cover (95B-419-798-B-5Q0) and removed the PDK paddles.
Can't wait to get this installed!!! Since my car is a 2009 (1.5) with the .2 black center stack I think this version will be a perfect fit and finish.

Something doesn't seem right here.
While a good rewrap shouldn't do this (see photo below) your leather bulges because that's where the seam is.
So why the heck does the carbon bulge out at those spots? There's no reason at all it should do that. Did they lay the carbon over the leather??

After being tired of the Macan wheel in my car, I upgraded to a skinnier smaller diameter steering wheel out of a GT4.
I like that it matches my floormats/seats/seat belts - but don't like that the stitching doesn't match the dash:

It makes a huge difference, congrats! Can you use the paddles to shift gears on the tiptronic then?

It looks like a plastic carbon look material that has been stitched in the same way the leather has. Definitely not for me, it looks very faux. I'm not a fan of carbon unless it's there to save weight

Did you need to change the steering control module or clockspring at all for this? I have a 2009 997.2 that uses the "old" grounding method, so my 2010+ steering wheel horn won't work.

I have most of the parts to convert it to multifunction, but I couldn't find the control module on the column for a price I'm willing to pay. Keeping an eye out. The smaller diameter steering wheel is a massive improvement in drivability since I'm no longer bumping my knees while driving.
