It doesn’t. My understanding is it works only for 991s and newer.

Just fitted a Renown Timetrial, such an improvement in feel to the Standard S wheel

Very nice! I don't know what wheel you had before, but this one looks perfect with the yellow stitching and 12 o'clock marker matching the dials. I also went the SportDesign alcantara route last month. I kept the airbag from the original wheel, saved me a bunch of money and matches the natural brown interior.
