Shhhhh! We negotiated for a month and I only got it $500 down, which covered the PPI. If you look at bluebook, it can be $25k-$38k or so. I am getting the feeling that people declare the price far lower than the actual purchase price, which skews the bluebook.

I have an extremely well cared for, excellent condition 2007 Silver/black 997S w/55K miles, new clutch, new tires and always garaged, clean carfax, excellent original paint - PPI done early this summer, no oil burn between oil changes. Gundo hack exhaust, Sport Chrono, Short Shift, H&R Springs
I wouldn't sell and you won;t find a similar example for less than $35K-$36K
You can always find poor serviced, fair condition non-S garbage in the mid $20's but if you want an fine example, not gonna find anything under $32K-$33K

Agreed with others, I think you will be hard pressed to find a good example below 30k. Prices have remained fairly consistent for the last year and a half or so. After speaking with a couple local Porsche mechanics I decided to focus in on a 997.2 which will be hard to find in a manual under 40-45k. Manuals seeming to go for big premium, especially over tip and slightly less so over pdk.

My 997.2 was victim to flooding and while I'd rather stay in a 997.2 or 991.1, I'm finding the 997.1 manual transmissions with 50-80k miles presenting themselves as an incredible value. Seeing some in the $24-27k mark, getting close to the upper end of 996 values.
IMS issues aside, is anyone else seeing this? With a good PPI, I'm having a hard time not pulling the trigger. Worst case, the engine grenades in a couple years and I've got an excellent platform for an LS swap (and much better aesthetically than a 996, IMO).
What else am I missing? I'm well read on the 997.2 but have purposely ignored the 997.1 up until now.
Thanks RL.

It will tell you everything we know that you want to know about the 997.1 cars.
Base cars are the only ones in the low 30s. Base cars with tips, high 20s. S cars with MTs are anywhere from 35-45 depending on condition and options. S cabs are mid 30s with Tips and high 30s with MTs.

I almost bought a local manual, sport seat, PSE equipped 2005 C2S with 37,000 miles this spring for $37,900. It was a very clean car. Unfortunately, it had early evidence of bore scoring and therefore I decided to pass. The owner was some sort of dealer/flipper and knew nothing about the car, so that was a bit of a turn-off as well. I ended up buying a pristine, no bore-scored club coupe for $65,000 with about 50,000 miles, and was very happy with the purchase. The club was a 2-owner (original owner, and then a friend who lived down the street) car with every service record documented, only a summer road trip car (no winter cold starts and short trips which tend to encourage scoring) and showed like a 20,000 mile car. Condition and records can have a big impact on the value of a car.

Just look on BAT to see what they are selling for. You can probably score one for $2-4k less locally, as a lot of people don't want to deal with the hassle of listing theirs on BAT and would just as soon see someone cut them a check and drive away.

They’re good deals out there, but you have to act fast and be open to travel and shipping or driving it back.
Ive seen clean well maintained base with nice options mileage 50-80k $24k-30k
higher mileage 997.2 75-100k $33-38k including S models.
I would check FB market place, autotrader,cars.com, and autotempest and car guru daily.
Don’t get discouraged, the right one will pop up.

Here in Australia, we don't really get as much choice - 997.2's are nearly the same price as 991's.
The lowest cost manual 997.1 C2S is USD $47k with 84k miles. This is for a UK import, which is always less.
The lowest cost equivalent 997.2 C4S is USD $94k with 31k miles.
I paid USD $66k for my 07 C2S with 24k miles - I just couldn't afford the 997.2 that I wanted.

Thanks all. I've put my deposit down after receiving a healthy PPI report back and will purchase confirm price/miles/condition/photos after I close the deal this weekend.
Great insight, thanks all.

I’ve got a 997.1 S Manual and I’d like to move into a 997.2S Manual but I can’t justify the price difference.
I paid $43.5k in January 2017, 24k miles. Champion RS98 wheels, Werks1 carbon fiber airbox, tubi style exhaust and mufflers.
It’s now got 49k miles and I think I could still get $40k for it. I see 50k mile 997.2 GTS listed for $70k but again I cannot justify the extra money.
As a buyer there is no better value than 997.1 right now.
