Ok neurotics... feast on this..... my third analysis. This time I did not put in my usual Mobil 1 0w-40, but Motul X-Cess 8100 5W-40 plus Liqui Moly MoS2. Why? I am nuts. Purely entertainment. But it is going to get even better! Wha? Yep, my current fill is with Motul again... BUT... ah that big but.... I added Ceratec. Again, don't ask why.... ask why not!
So, what do you think? BTW, I am not so sure about the increase in consumption... it is so hard to tell because I don't measure real accurately.
Peace

Tough to really do much analysis until you have some trends with 3 or more changes using the same recipe, but since you keep changing the variables (oil type, additive used, etc), that's going to be tough. What I do see in this one based on the low viscosity numbers and the Zinc and Phosphorous number both being below 1,000 is that I'd recommend reducing the mileage interval a bit. Try 5,000 miles on the next one and if it looks the same, then 4,500 on the one after that until the viscosity #s are in the range and ZDDP numbers are both over 1,000. Those are the targets. Wear metals look good though. It would also be helpful to see the TAN and TBN numbers but those cost extra. They usually keep a sample after doing the analysis and should be able to add it to the current report if you send them another $10. You want the TBN number higher than the TAN number, otherwise the oil has become acidic and that's' not good for the internal metal bits.
