Weird. Those look like all stock components. I wonder if they opened up and gutted the cats.

That burble is not stock or at least a slight cat mod. Either way I like it. Getting the new clutch, wp and thermo was a great bonus as well as the exhaust. Sounds like you got a great deal. Glad the car arrived in good shape.

I am going to guess Gundo hacked, as it is slightly louder than a Fister exhaust but sounds modded yet looks stock.

Looks like stock mufflers but impossible to tell by that picture if they've been hacked or Fistered though. Whatever the case, agree with those who say it doesn't sound like bone stock.

Like I mentioned above sounds very similar to the FVD Brombacher Level 2 exhaust kit that previous owner put on the 996C4S I owned years ago.
Very sweet sound whatever the hell it is

Question,
on the mufflers there should be a port on the top-rear that is the location where the pse Bypass would be installed. What are the chances that this port has been opened and rather than connected into the system it is venting exhaust directly to atmosphere?

I’ve attached an image for reference, found in this thread (https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-vs-pse-2.html).

I'm taking my car to Aker's Porsche when I get back from trip 7/31 - Gonna get on lift and have Mark Aker check it out - I'm sure he'll be able to determine just exactly was done or added.
Whats bizarre is I like this exhaust note better than PSE which has been my all time favorite so I am very motivated to figure out source of sound.

Hey Groovzilla... Is that video taken after car warmed up or is this a cold start?? Welcome Back and Congrats on the quick find!! She is a beauty and you are keeping the Silver dream alive! The oem short shifters in these cars are great. I have them installed on all my manual transmissions. I am surprised your previous C4S did not come with the oem short shifter already. Curious to hear your thoughts on how this C2S puppy drives in Seatlle weather vs your C4S.

I think your journey from 997.1 C4S to 1980 911Sc and now back to the future with another 997.1 C2S has single handedly yanked lots of wild butt hairs out of many of our butts for wanting to do the same thing. How's that for an image to ponder on! Just want to thank you. You have saved me a ton of money and many arguments with the wifey!!! hahahaha

ENJOY in good health!!

Owner who sold the car to seller Ipurchased from saved all his records the upgraded Kenwood CM unit box and the original PCM unit - I found him on RL and he shipped package which I received today.
Really kind and helpful RL member.

Nice ride and sounds great! Might be Carnewal modified stock side mufflers based on the re-weld of the pipe.
