That’s the trick.. no one seems to be able to explain how or if it affects 4wd performance.

4wd "performance" in terms of what?

The suncoast description says there is a sportier tuning of the awd drive system. I’m not sure what that means or what that feels like. Keeps it rear biased even when slipping?

I have a C4S manual and always run sport mode and turn off PASM, more for the PSE. Is there any way to just use the PSE without going into sport mode?

Not and still have it functional with dual modes. You can I plug the electric vacuum solenoid and leave the valves in sport all the time, but with a sport Chrono equipped car, you lose the separate PSE button and in its place is the Sport button so PSE is only in sport mode when the car is in sport mode, unlike PASM where once you put it in sport mode you can then push the shock button to put the suspension back in normal mode.

Here's the panel of my PSE equipped, non sport Chrono car - my PSE button is where your sport button is.

Right...That's what I thought. Sport Chrono is always on if I just want to activate the PSE (which is what I usually do). I thought there was some trick just to have the exhaust open all the time (besides unplugging the vacuum solenoid).

You could buy a separate controller for it. I installed and tested a For a controller for the company and documented it since they do mostly Ferraris and didn't have a 997 to test.with. I documented it in the attached and I think they've upgraded it since my test, but that might be a way for you to get independent control of the PSE exhaust.

My findings were that it would have worked much better with the hardwire route vs the remote but maybe that's one of the things they improved.
