997.2 Music Streaming
Hello All,
A possibly simple question here. I have a 2012 997.2 TT with the standard PCM and Bose. The manual mentions music streaming but I have not been able to make this work. The manual mentions "inserting the disc" to make this work. My phone (source) is paired, bluetooth is working for the phone function, but I cannot stream music. Is this something that was added to later production, or maybe the manual is wrong? Any help appreciated. Away from my car now, vacationing in a warmer clime, want to be ready for April! Thanks!

If you have the Aux insert and USB in your arm rest, you can solve this for $10. I have the same and it works very well.

Kellen, that looks like what I need, thanks for the info. If it will allow operation through the car's system, that will be great!

I did it In my Cayenne with PCM3 using this MPOW module from Amazon. Buy the one that does not include the BT phone profile, just the A2DP music streaming profile. Your phone can connect to the standard PCM for the phone profile and to the receiver for the streaming. This will result in better phone call quality but full music streaming functionality (Waze with Pandora, etc) and will switch to the phone call automatically. USB connection keeps it charged and audio is input through the aux port. Just power it on when you enter the car and it will automatically connect. If you feel like listening to the radio, the phone will still connect to the PCM3 for phone functionality even if the MPOW adapter is off since it's only used for streaming.

Yes. It will show track info and you can control everything from the OEM headunit. <5% of the time it may need a reset but its been great. Seems like its OEM.

The go to unit is the Bovee (formerly known as Tune2Air) Bluetooth adapter which in conjunction with the OEM “y” cable enables you to stream audio from your iPhone etc without the need for Aux cable or whatever. Do a search for more info

This is the one I use in my 997.2 with the y cable. I rarely have issues.

I agree that the Bovee 1000 (with Porsche's Y-cable) is the ticket. It matches well with PCM providing Playlists, and other fields. One needs to set the iPhone output volume to max.

Thanks for all the informed responses to my question! My car is in winter storage for another two months( check Minneapolis weather right now), but I want to be ready when April hits. Last year we got hit with 16" of snow on April 14th, but Nord Stern PCA still had their first track event at BIR on the 27th. Made it! Next quest, intercoolers.
