Semi solid trans mount?
I am about to do the RSS engine mounts, and was wondering if there is a prefered trans mount to go with the semi solid engine mounts?

The trans mounts will add a lot more NVH than the engine mounts will. If this is primarily a street car, I'd skip those. The RSS motor mounts are great though.

I use the Function First trans mount inserts - primarily for two reasons. It's claimed they will increase the life, or somewhat be restorative, if the original mount is sub-par. The other reason is they do eliminate some drive train movement in those semi-extreme/extreme conditions (e.g., hard acceleration) at the expense of NVH, as Pete mentioned. They are easy to install and remove.

From what i have read, everyone says the rss engine mounts help the feel of the car, and help shifting. Didnt know if it was worth anything to do the trans while i was in there

Engine mounts are a more noticeable upgrade in IMO. I installed the 964 RS and like how thow rear feels more planted. Engine mounts do wear out and the orginal had a little sag.
Trany mounts are supposed to help with shifting. With FF tranny mounts I felt the differmce was a bit more solid shifting when at very high revs. I say a bit more. But nothing really elsewhere. The OEM tranny bushing looked fine when I installed the FF and these are a long wear item.

I vote against the FF transmission mount inserts. I installed the yellow ones and had to go back to stock after a few hundred miles as the increased NVH was too much for me to tolerate.

I put some Wevo semi-solid engine mounts on recently and love the improvement. Tightened everything up, as mentioned, and the added NVH brought in a bit of the "rawness" many feel is missing from the watercooled cars. Shortly after, I put a FF orange transmission mount insert, and, while the difference wasn't quite as noticeable, I likewise enjoy the slightly increased mechanical NVH it gave me. The less soft GT cosseting the better, IMO.

Petza914 's recommendation regarding NHV is spot on for 90% of street cars or combined street/track cars.

I had a somewhat different experience. I installed the FF Yellow Trans mounts & shift bushings together to tighten shifting a bit under load, which it did. I did not notice any inc in NVH at all, but I was open to it.
24 mon later I added Rennline engine mounts (soft option) & Fabspeed x-pipe 200 cell sport cats at the same time. From 2.9 - 3.3K RPMs the NVH is ridiculous. Don't know if it's the engine mounts or Sport Cats. Going to put stock mounts back in to see if changes anything.

I just replaced my stock mounts with RSS mounts tonight. A little more noise, but not much. It feels more like a sports car.
