I went through multiple sets of Spyders on both my 997.1s before giving up on them and ponying up the extra money for the better quality Depo / Dectanes, which have been great for years. Depo is the manufacturer and Dectane is a distribution channel, but they're the same lights. They originally offered 4 versions - red & clear, smoked red & clear (pretty dark but with a red tint), smoked (less dark without the red tint), and crystal (essentially all clear but with colored LEDs that light when activated). Only the red and clear versions and the red dark tint versions are currently being made - the lighter smoked and the crystal are no longer available new.
I have the smoked ones on my GT Silver car and the red/clear ones on my wife's car. The smoked ones look lighter or darker depending on viewing angle and ambient lighting, as you can see in these shots.
Here's what the different light functions look like on the Dectane/Depo ones.
Brake Lights
Reverse Lights
Turn Signal
Running Lights

I also have the Depo lights, 460 EUR via eBay.
They look great, although after washing the car they also have the well-known condensation issue.
When I have more time I'll swap the rubber ventilation tubes from the OEM lights to the Depo's to see if that does the trick.

I really like the Depot's. I think it updates the car significantly (if you desire that vs all stock). I also just like the look of LED's in general. This weekend, adding LED's to front... PIC shows old and new

I have these on my 997 (ebay link) OLED with sequential turn signals.
Car is dirty after a nice winter drive and the phone camera doesnt quite pickup the colors correctly but you get the idea
Heres Video (sorry for the poor quality)

I still think I prefer the Depo's, as those have the OEM 997.2 - look, but yours look fantastic in their own right.
And not overly expensive either.
