996 Turbo Picture Thread
#2313
I was going through some of my photos and ran across these one from 2018. This is such a beautiful car - love it in so many ways. Paint to sample and at that time owned by my good friend Juan from Juan's Auto Service in the Lower Mainland. I tuned this car on the street using the COBB Accessport - this was before we had our 4WD dyno. It had the stock K16 turbos and an exhaust. This was also before they brought ethanol back into our local fuel, so knock mitigation on E0 fuel was always a bit of a challenge.

Mercedes is a Mercedes not a 911.
The 996 was a huge hit. They sold more 996s than the 993 and 964 series combined. The 996 was the best selling Porsche of all time at that point.
If you don't like 996 headlights don't buy a 996.

Reading a bunch of words leaves out tone, body language, expression and all other aspects of communication, it's pretty limited way of communication especially when the person reading doesn't know who you are.
Maybe tone it down a little? Just a suggestion cause it's hard to take someone seriously when they are coming off so confrontational...do as you please though. Just my observation from several of your posts.
I don't think anyone is looking to make their Porsche into a Merc just a cosmetic modification to enhance the look to suit their taste on THEIR car.
Maybe it's not for you, not your style or something but it's not good? What's so bad about it? Don't buy the car? Really? Rarely do car enthusiasts like the car, any car, exactly how it was made. No such thing as perfect.
No different than changing wheels, bumper covers, lips, wing or side skirts.

The member posted a photo of a modification he made to his car and expected feedback.
I gave mine, that was it. It wasn’t an attack. It wasn’t anything, it was just my opinion.

Yep ...no arguement ...To each his own everytime.... I've had a couple porches among other sports cars through the years.... and yes Porsche had quite the production run here.. I'm a guy that like so many, likes to mod cars and make
cosmetic changes...for me...well I actually bought this 996tt to try that quad look...does it work? Ahhh.... ???..it's only a cover after all... guys I drive with like it.... .and my opinion is... looks good from a distance...what I read .. people on this subject respond that putting a cover on is trying to make this p car a 997. In this case not so..I have a friend with a 997.1 but the 996 back end does it for me. ..never a perfect car...all debatable entertainment...anyway the 996 is so much analog adrenaline and the sachs cup clutch...what a car! I live in the mtns of Utah and after I go for a rallye...I just grin and decompress...we all love these cars.

@Lex_GTX Welcome! I've heard good things about Juan's but I've always used Turn3 since I was in Surrey for a long time. They helped me out on my 996 TT and built my 996 Carrera 3.8 motor. Generally had good experiences
