I might have a Europipe for sale shortly if you (or others) are interested.
As others mentioned, changing exhaust is pretty acceptable for a collector-grade car as long as the original is retained.
They do sound kind of like vacuum cleaners stock....

The vacuum cleaner sound is actually induction noise. Its very common and very desirable to hear induction noise in a front engine car, like BMWs, since the exhaust note is at the rear and seem to compliment each other. Hearing it in a rear engine car is odd to most people since it is mixed with the somewhat quiet stock exhaust note.

IMHO of course.

The stock exhaust doesn't produce the induction noise. The air being drawn through the turbo piping, plenum and intake runners creates the induction noise. The stock exhaust being relatively quiet allows the driver to hear it. The combination of both the induction and muffled exhaust mixing and coming from the rear of the car is what sounds odd, vacuum like, to some.

I hadn’t thought about the fact that on a 911, the exhaust and induction sound through the intake plenum are in the same proximity.

Went to the track Saturday, a buddy is a pro photographer and took some pictures.
Palmer's Whiskey Hill Racetrack is scenic, oh man it's scenic with the rock walls and cliffs.
I had the fuel line come off the fuel pump (again) so needed to fix it (again), I'm getting annoyingly good at this. There is a convenient seat built in for ease of repair.

Like Dock mentioned (Europipe) there are many great options and they can sound very different.
In my opinion an option with high-flow cats (race cats) is important, or no cats. 200-cell (HJS) cats are what I am running, no smell.
The exhausts I believe sound the best (I have not heard them all):
- Soul Performance (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/vRY6L8VqmkY)
- Unobtainium (https://youtu.be/orTHYGkuYPo?t=1)
- Fabspeed Maxflo w/ HJS race cats (I have this installed)
- GMG
Youtube can help you make your decision

Sorry about the fuel pump issues; at least you actually fit in the frunk, so that has to be something.

But to be clear, I do not think the less than glorious sound you hear on a stock 996 Turbo is induction noise. I think it's exhaust noise, just not a pleasant exhaust noise. I could be wrong, but the point is moot. Stock Turbos don't sound great, whatever the reason.

I understood what you were saying, I just disagreed with it and didn't want to just flat out contradict you...
