Possibly just higher quality aftermarket pieces? I always love to learn something new, but I don't recall seeing an option code for the silver rims in any of the 996 order guides...

I love my 996 Turbo, but for $76K all in ($71K hammer, $3,550 buyers fee, ~$1,500 transport costs), not what I would choose.

I think there is going to be more upward movement in price.

People are obviously seeing value in well maintained 996 Turbos.

Indeed. A beast of an engine, race-derived, which will take a ton of punishment without blinking. Still a mostly "analogue" car, without all the computer driven crap of today's cars. An elegant, classy, sober design which was decades ahead of its time and has aged very, very well.

You have no idea how bad I feel about selling mine.

That's probably true; it's a beautiful car.

Very impressive sale. Makes me think twice about taking mine out of winter storage and putting any more miles on it (13.8k miles) on it.

That one should bring strong money. I wonder if being located in Canadacwill hurt it, though.

I'm located in Europe and bought my car 3,5 years ago for $60k. Sold it a week ago for $72k.

Never thought I'd sell but the only reason is that it gets my closer to a GT Porsche.

I posted this in the craigslist thread, but I think it deserves a post here as well. Any idea on how many non 's' cars were made in 's' specification?

Little over $60k with fees. Seems like a fair market value for a nice X50 with 40k miles. Congrats on the sale Rick.
