It is nice but I doubt it is 'Natural Brown' as they state... as I was under the impression that was only available with the 'Full Leather' which has the soft leather seats (no lines in the rear of the base and much softer look and feel)... I have the Natural Brown in mine... listed as '02' on the build sheet...

I was referring to the white cab above, not the green unicorn from the ad. - Exterior Color: Carrara White, Interior Color: Natural Brown

The 2002 996 Turbo Order and Price Guide, under "Optional Special Leather Interiors", lists Natural Brown Leather as a stand alone option for $1,400. I don't see anything about this including the soft look leather seats, which is a separate option (option 982 for $395).

ok, appears '02 year cars may have had a different option listing. I remember you helped me decipher my interior ages ago here (thanks again btw ), as mine also has the X99 which is 'soft leather option', and then you said that the '02' colour code (Leather - Natural Brown) may have dictated the X99... so one can't happen without the other. Would be interesting to see the build sticker on this White cab.

The 2002 Order Guide lists option code 982 conflicting only with option code P78 (Leather Sport Seats). The "conflicts with" for the '01 Turbo may indicate that the natural leather only came in soft look for the seats, rendering the option code 982 redundant. It could also mean that the soft look just couldn't be ordered with options codes 01 or 02. Your car has natural leather and your seats are soft look, right?

Yes, I have Natural Leather and Soft Look another pic attached... (not exact colour in real life... a tad browner, but not much).

I have to note that the White cab looks more like Cinnamon interior compared to mine. I could suggest that who ever took the photos had the white balance off, but actually the white is almost perfect, if not a little shade of blue, so if warmed slightly would make the interior even more brown. You can also see that the ignition surround is a slightly lighter colour of brown, which I find odd...

  • 982 is "Soft look leather seats".
  • X99 is "Natural Leather Option". (No requirement for 982)
  • 04 is the color code for "Natural Leather – Brown"
Soft look leather seats was not required when selecting Natural Leather, Brown.

Yep, cool... that is why I don't have 982 but have X99. Still though your comment about '04' colour code conflicts with what Dock is saying, "02 (Natural Leather - Brown)"? Did that change between '01 and '02 model years? I still stand by my comment that the White cab is not Natural Brown colour leather.
