I also suspect it makes quite the 'wooshing' sound, all geared up with Greddy...

Something about that car doesn't look quite right to me and I'm trying to figure out what it is. Maybe the Techart bumper and the rear spoiler paired together don't go well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Low mile car though in a nice color. Curious to see what the final bid is.

I think it's the wheels. IMHO, the full TechArt package would look better with the TechArt wheels to complete the look (though I'm pretty sure they are boat anchors).
I'm also not especially a fan of any of that TechArt, stuff, though. Bumper and sideskirts are ugly, wing is too big.

I'd say it is very difficult to find a decent manual coupe Turbo for $40K these days... Sure, every once in a while someone snags one from a seller who hasn't paid attention to pricing, but that's not easy to find.
Otherwise, $40K is typically the realm of a high mile car, or a tip, or accident history, or a terrible color combo, or rough cosmetics, or some other significant negative. Even a $45K price target is tough these days.
I'd put realistic buyers budgets for 6-speed coupes at:

I'd put realistic buyers budgets for 6-speed coupes at:
- Under $40K if you are waiting for a sellers mistake car, or carfax blems, big cosmetic issues, really high miles, etc.
- $40K budget for a mostly clean (but likely needs a few things), higher mile car.
- $45-48K budget for a clean, sorted, cosmetically appealing driver with no deferred maintenance and less than 50 or 60K miles.
- Over $50K for something lower miles or a particularly appealing car.
- Over $60K for something that one might think of as a future collectable.
- Over $70K if your flush with cash, don't mind overpaying, and see something you really like on BAT

That car is lucky to have done as well as it did, I personally would not even of considered it, way to many funky mods on it and no mention of all the stock parts still being around. That car had warning flags stamped all over it!

Beating up on modern Ferraris and McLarens at track days doesn't hurt value in the overall enthusiast community, either

The same dealer has a silver/black 2001 with 14,000 miles.

Trend lines on any of the aforementioned car in "pfbz's" post are up. This includes Black Book which is a "bible" of sorts for wholesalers. Hagerty has a "Concours" category which most cars don't fit into but nonetheless bears out the fact they are rising.
