Could be... though it's already been bumped to $50K less than 24 hours in.

59.

read the fine print: 6.25% additional dealer fees on top of BAT fees.

I think you missed part of the description, perhaps because of the line break.
It reads "6.25% Sales Tax + Title/License Fees for TX Residents".

Many (most?) states require dealers to charge sales tax for in-state sales, which you would pay anyway when you register the car if not collected by the dealer. No sales tax charged by dealer if your not in the dealers home state of Texas, but of course you'll likely pay when you register in your home state.

That's similar to an issue I had when I bought a new car in Minnesota. I tried to tell them that I would pay the tax and registration when I got tags in my home state of KS. Supposedly Kansas required them to collect tax and registration at the time of the sale. They sent the proof of payment on the appropriate State of Kansas forms to me which I then took to my DMV when it was time to get tags. The problem was it took an exorbitant amount of time for them to send the paperwork. Now I was dependent on another state documenting my payment. I think I ended up wasting an extra week or so after my temporary tags expired. The greed to collect taxes at the local level is only exceeded by that at the federal and state levels.

I got around paying the selling state tax by having the car shipped to me instead of picking it up and then driving back to my home state.

And another very decent looking Turbo on BAT!

38K-Mile 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo 6-Speed

Modified car, but looks to be done well with high quality mods.

Maybe a programmer here could set up a sticky where Bring a Trailer is automatically scanned for 996 Turbos for sale, and then lists them in the sticky. A looped 30 second scan of the Bring a Trailer site should be adequate to make sure that near instantaneous postings of new listings are added to the sticky. Maybe an automatic refresh function could be added where someone actually interested in purchasing a 996 Turbo could just leave the sticky up on their computer so no opportunity is missed. Rennlist could make this a pay-for-use thread, and also sell advertisement, making money twice on the setup.

Right. Because posting up cars for sale in a, you know, "cars for sale" thread is so much more of a time-waste for our readers than flippant comments about such posts...

It's not a flippant comment. It's a suggestion for a one-stop-shopping sticky that would allow people to have a better chance of finding 996 Turbos for sale, rather than relying on other people spotting the cars and posting them in this thread (or the "cheap Porsche" thread. BTW, what's the current pricing cutoff between a car that should be posted on one versus the other?) Someone relying on the "look what I found" aspect of these threads could mean a missed buying opportunity. A sticky could help eliminate that. As a matter of fact, the sticky could become a clearing house that incorporates all sale sites, scrubbing them for 996 Turbos, and listing them all in the sticky thread. Each car could have a sidebar discussion mini-thread attached to it for all the normal speculation on pricing and condition. A potential buyer would simply find a car that interested them, and click on a "comments" pull down to see the opinions of other people.
