Nyuofa - If the Clutch is super heavy, it might have a bad slave cylinder and/or clutch accumulator. I know this first hand. When I got my '03 shipped to me I couldn't believe how unbearably heavy the clutch seemed. Once my clutch accumulator was repaired, it became smooth as butter.

In the broader picture though very few car owners have the level of commitment as the folks on rennlist. Cracked steering wheels are quite common, and as another wrote, so are dented hoods. I would not pass on a car because of those faults.

I completely agree, but my point was more that a car priced at a top of the market 'prestige' level should have few if any of the common faults. IMHO cars should either be reasonably priced and have some typical issues, or prestige priced and be nearly flawless?

Nice condition black 996 steering wheels are under $500 all day long on ebay, and since I am not a huge fan of the wood anyway, sort of a no brainer to just swap that out. David Imes at Apex Auto in Denver is the guy to talk to about the hood repair cost... Does most if not all of the high end Porsche body repair and restoration in the area.

I also agree but I do not consider this car at that price to be true "prestige", close, but not quite.

I hope you're right. I just drove my friend's 997.1 Carrera and it felt much more smoother. Hopefully, this is another point for negotiating a lower price.

maybe it's smoother because it's weaker, it only has to handle a puny 325hp

beautiful car -looks like Prestige to me-- but the ad writer is so full of it:

"This is the year that Porsche put the 997 turbo running gear in the 996 cabriolet before switching over. Large Twin-Turbos and All Wheel Drive"

Yellow car on Bat went for $51.5k. I feel like it could have done a little better.

Tend to agree, but considering the buyers premium, grey interior, and 60k miles probably about right.

This is the absolute worst time of the year to sell a sports car. That same car will bring $5k more in three months. I would not be surprised to see it flippped in the near future.
