Historically true, although they do sell a lot of P-Cars here @ the Monterey / Pebble Beach auction for top dollar, but this is indeed a special event.

Their website showed like 4 pages of Porsches at Kissimmee this week. Some really special cars too, but they didn't meet reserve per your observation.

Still, a clean 48K mile Turbo S Tippy for mid high 50s is not a bad deal for either buyer or seller. Beautiful car!

Mecum is 10% Buyers Premium... So $60.5K for a 48K mile 2005 Turbo S TIPTRONIC??

Buyer had auction fever and overpaid IMHO. And looking at the pictures, it doesn't look to me anywhere near pristine that I would expect on a $60K 996 Turbo.

And remember, on Mecum cars, no test drives, no PPI's or other formal inspections, no warranties of any sort. Often you don't even hear them run other than idling across the block. Could be cosmetically and mechanically 100%. Or it could need shocks, brakes, plugs, coils, check valves, spoiler rams and have had several panels repainted.

Ive bought two Mecum cars in the past... After going through them post-purchase, one was really clean and a semi-decent purchase, the other not so much and quickly flipped it away, didn't meet my standards (neither was a Porsche).

It's a fun way to buy a car and they get interesting inventory, but IMHO you better buy at a really good price as you are taking a significant risk.

Here's a rare '05 Turbo S 6-speed. Definitely prestigious. Expensive too, both when new and now.

Some mods? Seems like a lot of mods to me. Car is no longer an X50 when the car has upgraded turbo's and all the supporting mods. X50 has value if the original parts are in place, otherwise it is just a turbo in my opinion.

Nice car regardless.

can't you put it back to stock? it will still be an X50. you can't put X50 parts on just a turbo and call it an X50. you can, but at the end of day but it won't be...

Just saw the car. 9600 miles. PCCBs. PSS9s, 19" HREs. Unfortunate cosmetic mods: GT2 replica nose and TechArt-looking side skirts. Front hood was cut for 'duct' section - all steel. Otherwise, fantastic. Has an exhaust with bypass...
Not sure where to price it. Thinking $53.5K

Too bad they did that stuff to a 9k mile car. I'm thinking sell the hres and put stock twists on but probably then the skirts and other body looks off.

Seems worth the $ to undo all of it, frankly. I don't see how it wouldn't increase the value more than the cost.

Money aside, it would also just be the right thing to do.

What the hell are they venting out of the hood? What a shame.

Near as I can tell, that's a "tribute" to the air cooled 911s... I've seen it done in carbon fiber, but never before seen it done in steel. De-geeking (splitters, rockers, hood and front bumper cover) wouldn't be a big investment at the end of the day.

This speed yellow looks quite nice: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Porsch....c100010.m2109

Mid-range mileage at 60k but still a very reasonable price at this point for a stock speed yellow X50. I'm interested to see what the sale price is.

I started this thread last night including a vid I made of the 03 996 TT I looked at yesterday. Not sure I'm going to spend what he's asking yet, but if anybody else decides they can't live without it, I'll forward you his info (once I make a 100% decision).
