Nothing makes sense. High end sports cars, luxury items, etc. have been crazy prices since Covid, yet the recent market should suggest otherwise.

I think pretty wealthy people are still doing well but man things look rough. The Fed has to knock down the housing market otherwise too many people leverage up into starter homes at double the value and it will take out the baking system again when it drops. They can't let it go too far.

114k miles is not collector grade.

Which is remarkable in its own right. Before Covid a six figure mileage car would have changed hands in the twenties

Depends on the Collector, does he want a ticking time bomb that's had little to no service but has low miles? Or a car with some miles that's had meticulous upkeep and he can enjoy driving AND looking at it?

Not saying thats the car referenced, just saying that focusing on miles is a major mistake.

"Rona" prices are in the past.

It might be major mistake but low miles has been the Holy Grail and bringing the biggest bucks in the collect market for quite a while now. I am just typing what I am seeing.

Fair. I think buyers are taking the wrong approach with these cars though. I'll keep nabbing 80k "high mile" cars though myself.

I'll take the clean 200k mile examples. Fits in with all the other cars I have.

i went for a 49k mile car just because it seemed to split the difference without a huge price premium

and no guilt driving it

If I could afford it I'd take the ticking time bomb any time. There's no degree of good maintenance that can offset the wear and tear on the inside of the car.

A seat that's had an *** sitting on it for 3000 hours can't compare to one that's been sat in for 300 hrs. A low mileage car which still smells like new, without a crease, a scratch or a scuff, it's a different experience.

It was a lot of money but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it. Really was a great car.
