It is nice but too many mods for most, shame it wasn't left closer to stock.

Nice looking car. What are the horizontal black pieces ahead of the front tires?

No, I am serious, it is a nice looking car.

Are the front side light covers just painted/tinted? LED convert? Just looks different than others I've looked at.

Those are the side markers. Normally I believe they were orange in the US, and clear in Europe. These look like blacked out clears. I actually stared at these as well the first time I looked at the add. I don't think they look good, and rather than blending in, they actually stand out.

pretty nice if you swap out those ugly rims. Factory aero kit but kind of odd they swapped in the gt2 (look?) front.

I do have the stock parts to come with the car. The wheels are freshly finished so the stock "hub cabs" are a little dingy on the new wheels. I have a spare set of black "hub cabs" so I put them on.

Those rims are hideous. I have a factory aero wing and gt2 front bumper on turbo twist rims and I think it's the best looking combination of all the options, obviously I'm biased though.

also, on experience. having owned, built & maintained an aircooled racer for a number of years I know my way around those cars which is comforting for me. I just never fell in love with the turbo like I had my previous 911. it's a great car, just not the 911 for me at this time.

plus, I never got the promised rennlist stickers when I paid to become a full fledged member.... ya, that's it.

to follow up on the market speculation I did sell the turbo today to a very cool porsche-phile upgrading from an early 996 C2 for nearly what I was asking at $45k. the car did well on a PPI at 52k miles, low over rev numbers, and the new owner having driven 4-5 cars said this car shifted better than any he'd driven. original clutch that still rated above average for mileage according to the PPI and the addition of the wevo mounts & tarrett softy green transmission mounts I suggest contributed to the superior shifting. he also seemed to notice no significant difference in cabin noise from the mounts and the fact I did the holesaw mod to the stock exhaust.

we were both thrilled with the deal and sale experience so I hope joe from Benicia is happy with his new turbo. I'm now in search of an 84 thru 86 aircooled Carrera to start my next chapter. thank all of you guys here for the knowledge, tolerance, and hospitality during my turbo ownership experience. it was a cool run, but I found my true love lies elsewhere in the 911 lineage.

glad to have owned, driven, worked on some becoming familiar with the 6t!
