Nice 996 Turbo Cab sold in So Cal last week for $74K.

I think it's safe to say, the 996 prices are coming on boost.

A car's condition and mileage obviously have an impact on value.

I can name numerous examples where cars were abused- laughed at and totally ignored that are now collectable and worth more than when new. Even Ford Pintos and Chevy Vegas in good original condition are sought after as is the American Motors AMX and other obscure muscle cars once thought worthless. The 930 Turbos were considered terrible in my day and people ran from them. My point is its ok to have fun - mod these cars and run the snot out of them but sooner than later they will be worth quite a bit in comparison to today. I cant believe some of the older members cant realize this as history has taught this over and over again. I know most could care less and that's fine but don't count out any 911t because you will be wrong in the long run.

The demand for premium low miles AND well documented 996TT is at a fever pitch..

FYI, I have a few customers requesting sub 10K cars.. Please email me with details.

I agree, in fact I think that because many of the cars you mentioned were ignored and abused reduces the number of nice ones available on the market.

I believe that about 6,604 996T Coupes were sold in the US, TOTAL. How many of that number are 6MT and how many have been lost, neglected, etc. I don't think it will get easier to find a nice 996T any time soon.

I have zero plans of selling mine. I drive it just about every day. I do plan to mod it a bit (exhaust, suspension, tune, perhaps a turbo upgrade) but I will be taking excellent care of it and putting away all the stock parts safely

in fact over 22,000 worldwide, almost half coming to N.A. Far more than the 964/993 T variants. Could help explain their escalating prices.

^That's roughly the 93-98 Supra Turbo numbers try and find a lower mileage clean example=big bucks hard to find. I can name numerous sports cars with larger numbers that are now rare. The point is younger guys are getting these with small budgets and big ideas and that equals disaster. Time will tell the same story it always does. Wanted to add there were roughly 11000 total Supras but try finding a clean N/A model, probably harder.

Marshal Goodman has a 05 Turbo S with 250 miles and they are asking 199k dollars. I always have known they are expensive but that price is ridiculous.

Ridiculous indeed. Here are the vitals from its build sheet:
Price: $137,520.00
Exterior: Slate Grey Metallic
Interior: Black Full Leather
Warranty Start: November 26, 2004

Additional Equipment:
342 Heated Front Seats
586 Lumbar Support-Left Seat
59 Slate Grey Metallic
AH Black Full Leather
CAZ Front Air Intakes Painted
CUV Storage Cmpt Lid W/Turbo Logo
M6A Black Mats - Porsche lettering
XSC Porsche Crest in Headrest
Y05 Brake/Shifter Carbon/Aluminum
Z0997 Custom Tailoring

But only 192 miles... why bother owning it? Even if the PO bought it to pickle and sell, and sold it at close to $200K, I could think of a few better places to put ~$150k for 10 years to make a better return.

Some people have money and spend 130k on vacations in a year. Probably a collector with a multitude of cars. It will sell high but probably not that price= but if the right guy wants it who knows.

That's is true...but I didn't think the 996T was on the list for the folks that go to Pebble Beach and what not. For less then 80k dollars I'm sure you can find a similar car with less than 10k miles and atleast have some service history and a bit of use on the engine, which likes to be used vs sitting, but if that car goes for even 100k it may tip me into thinking we are truly in bubble territory like so many are saying.

True, but...? As an example (and sure it's an outlier), $150,000 in APPL on this day in 2005 is now worth, wait for it... $2,811,924.60

^That's silly you could say that for a lot of things. Look at all the money people spend on mods and most (not all) sell within two-three years= most if not all money spent lost. People that know money rarely invest in cars. I like land with profit making attributes and metals others choose whatever, I personally would never buy a car as an investment. If a persons wealthy and they want to pay 475k for a 1997 993t or 200k for a 996t= I say have at it.
