$55,000 sounds why high for an 02 model and I don't think the mileage should make that much of a difference and in fact could be an issue. Have u had a PPI done yet? If you shop around mid to low $40's might be a better price point. A recent coup n the Atlanta recently went for mid $30's. Good luck in your search.

You will never find a nice 6spd for mid 30s. Mileage and year are the two main factors in pricing a 996tt or any car for that matter. If they sell that car for mid 40s they are nuts.

Interested to hear what the group consensus is. Perhaps I should just hold out a bit longer since it seems there are better deals out there. I told them I’d do $50k, but that’s not good enough so I’m 99.9% sure I am going to walk, but before I do would like to hear what others respectfully think since I sold my heavily optioned 2001 996tt two years ago at $42k, w/40k miles. Has the market shifted one way or another? Thanks!
Hmmm... If it were an X50 with those miles at that price I'd say that's about the right price -- not too high and certainly not too low. But as it is, that seems a little high.

I bought an X50 with 17,000 miles just shy of 2 years ago. Seller wanted 57, we got down to 55 and he stalled. I thought the car was worth 53 based on what I had seen around the nation during my previous 4-month search.

But here was the thing: it was exactly what I was looking for: Silver over Natural leather, X50, under 20k, 6 speed, Coupe, with sunroof delete. As a bonus it had $14,000 worth of leather upgrades: seatbacks, all consoles, horseshoe, vents, steering column, rearview mirror, visors, instrument panel, and a good bit more. MSRP'd at $149k. And amazingly it was 13 miles from my office. So rather than quibble over that last two-thousand I folded and bought it.

I would have been much less happy passing on that car and buying one for a few thousand less that missed out on one or more of my criteria. But that's me; some people get really bothered to not get a great deal on a purchase.

Now, I'm about to put it up for sale and know I'll lose some on it, but not too much I hope.

These cars are not going to get cheaper. Better buy now before the hockey stick.

NoGaBiker - What a nicely optioned car. Definitely worth the extra couple of thou. Let me know when you wanna sell as I may know somewhat that would jump on it.

Will do, Sanyata. I have a GTS on order with a March 27 build date, so I ought to go ahead and get off my *** and get it ready to sell. Was planning to wait till spring time, but may move a little sooner than that.

Thanks!

I was actively shopping last Fall. I'm sensing the market has come up 5-7% just in the past 6 months.

Too many people are talking up these cars as "the bargain Porsche."

Nice, I would've done the same thing. What's the mileage on it now? What year? Don't think you'll lose too much on it.

25,500. 2002. I hope not. I figure I'll sell it this spring at a loss which will cause prices to immediately run up $15,000. I'll take one for the team, guys. Maybe you could all chip in a few bucks?

look guys. i'm a die hard dedicated member of the i love 996 turbos "club", even if not overly welcome here lol.

but you guys are DREAMING on prices. 61k for the modded with 20K++ miles? good friggin luck.

unless this is some strategy to hold "your" cars until they DO ever become collectible. lol. cos thats whats gonna happen. incredible. but just maybe the spring and summer bump will, as it tends to, float all boats.

that said. glws to the above poster. comments certainly not directed "personally", just my reasonably educated .02+

they won't be "nuts" at all. they'll be taking what the market will bear, and is reflected in the averages. i'm going to be very curious to see what you ultimately list yours for. i sense you're in for a bit of a shock. but i sincerely hope not.
