Default GT3 Shifter Part Number?

Does anybody know the part number for the most recent version of the GT3 shifter that can be used in the 996T? As I recall there are two flavors of the shifter: a GT3 for the 996 and a GT3 for the 997 which used aluminum versus plastic parts...if I am not mistaken.

Give these guys a call, they are great:
Their website under 996tt does refer to the GT3 shifter.
"New Option! - Looking for a race version of this part? We now have the GT3 version, it's identical, but plastic shift bushings are replaced with Billet Aluminum."

My car is being serviced now, I just called the dealer and asked them to throw in a 997 shifter.

Part number#99742401000

I've driven a handful of 997's and really like it. I was afraid the GT3 would be too notchy. I hate that.

I may do the same...I don't want a notchy shifter. I, too, want smooth and not having to be uber-precise with every shift. That gets annoying---quick. I tested a 996 recently with a short throw shifter and hated it. Think it was a B&M.

I think I may go with a plain 997 shifter.

The 997GT3 shifter is NOT notchy... However, ANY poorly adjusted shifter (insert type) can be notchy!

Thanks man! Actually Taylor is going to pick me up the 997SSK. I'm going to have him install and adjust it.

What's really cool about the Numeric not only is it robust, buit it fits within your console and under your shifter boot. Looks completely stock.
