I had the speed tech slash cut non sound engineered tips. According to my co pilot (and just about everyone else) they were very loud. They didn't bother me very much because I am hard of hearing. I did notice, however, a significant hum (to me, otherwise known as drone) which I found a little difficult to talk at highway sppeeds.

Well, these bad boys have absolutely killed the hum at the 60mph point, and to my ears, I can still get great noise when I hit the loud pedal.

So, my setup is headers, 100dpi cats and full 3" ceramic coated everything to the tips. I like it very very, much - even more now.

Cheers,

Just let my father in law try it...

Because I'm a good son in law.

Washed Alberta off of it, torqued the wheels, gave it some leather care...

Went out and played in the canyons with a 997.2 GTS and a 993 C2... Both gorgeous cars, but damn I love the power, handling, and looks of my 996 Turbo!

only one really crappy photo!

Sweet cars!

I'm repainting my brake calipers today, since I didn't like how they turned out last time.

When I'm on a canyon cruise, I often hit the "up" button on my spoiler when starting out as there are dozens of speed changes above and below the extend/retract thresholds. Then of course it stays up when I do park it and through the next start cycle...

If it's going up and down frequently, I'll sometimes catch the spoiler movement in my peripheral vision through the rear view mirror and honestly find it distracting when I'm pushing the car a bit. I do the same thing at the track...

Why do you have chrome wheels and no center-caps?

Yup. Really bad picture, terrible lighting, etc. We were in some amazing scenery, and I'll I grabbed was the crappy parking lot picture.

Had to focus on driving... I understand.

Paint finish on the 993 is exemplary.

Are cars moving around behind you also distracting?

Took it out for a drive for the first time in 8 months, 300 miles of smiles. Looks like the SpeedTech cats have bought the farm now however oh well they lasted for 30k miles.

Not sure yet, keep getting a P0420 code with new rear O2's. First going to swap some new O2's in first and pull the cats to check them. Not that it matters anymore as it is exempt from emissions being over 15yo now.

Funny, I was getting both 420 and 430 cat efficiency down and initially I thought it was crappy fuel.

Then on Saturday, the Mrs and I went out for a rip up the sound, it was raining heavily, got the 420/430 along with a cylinder six misfire, am now changing the coils....

That would make sense. I have new plugs and coils and no misfires or boost leaks, it showed up once last year and cleared the codes and never had an issue again. Only getting a 420 for bank 1. Might swap the bank 1 and bank 2 sensors to see if it carries from one side to the other first as that is easy enough to do.
