What did you do to your 996TT today?

I now have the unfortunate job of "de-funking" the origional owner's hack job on wiring an aftermarket stereo. While the OEM unit was in place and operational when I bought the car, I soon uncovered multiple dead wiring looms, cut OEM wires, splices and runs of purple "super speaker" wire weaving in/out of every conceivable orifice. They even cut/popped my firewall seals just so the mice could find a cozy home. I just hope that everything still works when I'm done.
Hope you are successful sorting out your problems without major headaches.

my 5 and 7 year old wanted donuts for breakfast....so we did donuts (this is what my wife gets for leaving me alone with them for 10 days)

Dodged a bullet. For now. Spoiler has not worked since I picked her up in April. My theory-if your right side fails first you may be in luck. The microswitch will shut down the pump quickly when the right side isn't rising, possibly saving you from pump self-destruction. This was my case I think. Removed pump, lines, and lifts from the car, cleaned everything (including the interior of the lifts), and set up a quickie test / fill rig. Bought a bag of 30 copper crush washers (12mm OD x 8mm ID) and carefully filled, bled, and assembled with new washers & Pentosin only. Thankfully the lifts ran in perfect sync right away. After half a dozen cycles, I extended them out all the way and let them sit under spring pressure for over 5 hours. No movement, not a drop - lucky! The rubber sheath on the lines was crumbling so I removed what remained and covered them with some marine-grade split loom I had leftover from a boat project. Assembled everything back to the car and it works perfectly. No warning light or chime. Taking it out tomorrow for some real-world testing. I consider myself lucky. Whoa! I can't figure out how to shrink the pictures, so I'm stopping at one.

Dropped mine off at Soul Performance in Willow Grove, PA for the guys to finalize their 996TT development. Spoke to them for a while - they told about me their philosophy, process, analytic approach to sound, and showed genuine enthusiasm. Really impressed with their business and looking forward to hearing how it sounds. For my car we're going with a 3" X-pipe with 200 cell cats, however they will also be offering that pipe catless as well. More updates in the coming weeks!

Cheers indeed! Newsflash-Super Bowl Sunday is a great day for a drive, we left the house around 12:30, took some windy roads up to Carpinteria, had lunch, then drove back down the coast-NO TRAFFIC! I swear everyone was going 85, it was awesome. Spoiler functioning perfectly, but I was still a little nervous first time we hit 75........."did I re-attach that spoiler correctly?"
