Haven't been posting much lately. I'm a "Regular Jo" who does most of his own maintenance and tried to buy as much car as I could on my budget in North Dakota. It's a one owner car (with the exception of the month before I got the car - he returned it and purchased a Panamera) that I purchased from Porsche of Tyson's Corner in the DC area. So, here is some of the happenings lately:

- Two neighbor kids asked if I could take them for a ride in my Therapy Car. Told them to get permission from their parental units. They are now life-long fans of Porsche. One said "it went so quickly it knocked the wind out of him." He now REALLY wants a car like mine (disclaimer - I didn't break any traffic laws, just got to the speed limit real quick
- Drove the car the entire winter, in North Dakota (not much salt use in my area) and enjoyed the hell out of it. Figured out the AWD system in this car isn't much help in the winter. Didn't get stuck. Rear engine and RWD (or RWD bias) is a good combo.
- Gave the car it's first oil change since purchasing it. I waited 7K miles (I'm bad) but vowed to only let 4 or 5K go by on future changes. Went smoothly! Had to buy a new tool - my first torque wrench Now I need large diameter allen wrench for draining the OZ or two from the turbos on the next change.
- Sought and destroyed several rattles.
- Took an emergency road trip (family issue) from Western North Dakota to Chicago. Put 2,300 miles on her in a week. Got a blowout on a front tire about 50 miles from Fargo, ND. The blowout was not as dramatic as I would have expected. Thank God for the OEM low profile tires! No damage to the car. Weirdly enough, the Tires Plus in Fargo had 2 OEM sized tires to fit. Dealer in Fargo said it would take 2 weeks to get the meats. It's now a non-matching set of tires, but at least it's drivable.
- Don't know if it's a tune or a "spike" but I hit 1.2 bar in second gear on the way home today (the inspiration for today's post).

Wishlist for later this year:
- New steering column will be installed later this month (issue with some sort of "sheer washer" from an incompetent stereo install where they removed the dash/steering wheel). As is, the steering wheel has about an inch of play moving in, toward the driver, and away from the driver. Nice and tight in the side-to-side action, though.
- Replace most of my suspension (OEM, nothing "upgraded" or lowered)
- Replace the stupid aftermarket stereo/amp with OEM
- Hunt down my last 2 rattles
- Get the paint touched up

Overall old girl has 110,000 miles now and feels really healthy Mission accomplished, Therapy Car.

Over the past week or so I've done a Markski turbo inlet, coolant flush, new front bumper old one had some minor impact spidering (for sale ), new front lip, new front fender liners, license plate frame, oil change (mobile 5-50), boost leak! Oh and a quick foam cannon bath from all the garage time. Shame on me for not pressure testing after the inlets and lowering the engine.

I've had this bumper for like 8-9 months super clean wish I put it on sooner, really refreshes the front of the car.

Oh and used back to black for the first time, pretty decent stuff. I used it on my wiper tray and the old rear fender liners.

Fitted some RUF mesh screens to the RTurbo front bumper. Hoping they help keep debris out of the radiators.

Bumper looks great ^^^! The mesh screens are an absolute necessity. Recently I replaced them on my RUF bumper and after just one track session you can see the huge dents in the new ones from taking chunks of rubber at 160+. Obviously the dents are easy to pull out. The screens are an absolute necessity, without them the radiators would be to toast.

Out of curiosity, how much did RUF charge for the screens? I purchased them on Ebay and they are identical to the RUF ones I originally had on my car. One 12x48 and one 6x36" sheet is what you need with extras to spare. Under $100 shipped. Just for future reference.

Thanks!

The screens were $75 for all 3 + shipping (which I think was around $50) from RUF. Took a couple weeks to arrive. Plus I bought some floor mats at the same time to combine shipping. There really isn't anything special with the RUF screens like you said. I'm betting the eBay links are the exact same stuff.
