What did you do to your 996TT today?
Drove the car a couple hundred miles on Saturday and got a "low coolant warning" 38 miles from home. The car made it home without temps rising above the 180* mark. Steam was rising on the right side, and there was a definite hissing leak from the right side as well as coolant covering the back of the car.
Started the car Sunday and heated it up for 20 minutes. The needle hit the 0 in 180 (higher than when driving) but no leaks. I put pressure to it with a coolant pressure filler, and coolant started pouring out of the right side again.
Set my phone in the car and put another 20psi of pressure to the system and I THINK I found the leak? Let me know your thoughts:

Realistically, the tune/exhaust 9 sec 1/4 cars aren't doing that on a tune that is every day usable. I was involved with a 991.2TTS with tune/exhaust/drag radial car that went 9.99 @ 139 and backed it up with a 9.97 @ 140 before we got asked to go home for no cage. The tune on that car was aggressive- tuner we worked with told the owner there is some reliability risk with how aggressive it is and dont drive around on this tune- this is for drag strip only and it required race gas. On the "drive it anywhere" and pump gas custom tune, it was 6-7 mph slower trap speed which is huge- not that much slower ET, only 2-3 tenths. But 6 mph is a difference you really notice in how the car feels, and was over a half second difference in 60-130 even though only a couple of tenths in the 1/4.
But yeah, to your point, 10.1-10.2 is still really fast

I've been putting lots of twisty miles on the F430 lately, but was out with some buddies in a 996 Turbo (and 992 Turbo), was reminded of how completely freaking awesome our Turbos are. They may not be as pretty as an Italian mistress, but they get it done! And at 10,000', the power difference between 500 NA horsepower and 500 (tuned) turbo horsepower is profound.
