Tossed on a set of stone guards. Jury is still out on how I feel about the look. But they’re certainly thick. I know rock chips are just a part of life but these cars seem to really like to pick up little chips all over.

Where did you find those? I had to make my own out of sheet vinyl. I believe the only place I saw selling them was in the UK.

Not really digging the look of that but I get wanting to protect the paint. Your car is nice @Celison !

Got some Rennfix light savers installed

I got them from Design 911 in the UK. They actually got here in less than a week so that wasn’t bad at all. I think shipping was like $40. They’re starting to grow on me looks wise. Tons of 911s have them so I don’t think they look out of place.

Cool. Probably the same ones I looked at. I wanted the guard to be more elongated. I taped a large sheet of paper to my body panel and used a compass with a piece of wood in place of the metal spike to trace the surrounding curves. Overlaid the template on matte black vinyl and cut them out.

That looks great! Hope you kept the template lol. I would have (still might be) interested in buying a set off of you if you were up for it.

Suspension wise, are you just running the H&R on B8 shocks? Do you have any issues with the front end bobbing around (like the shocks are unable to manage the spring) with heavier cornering loads? Trying to see if this is inherent to the setup or if my B8s are shot or bushings are worn.

Yes, I still have the template. They were just cut out by hand with scissors so up close the edges are not perfectly linear like a pro cutter would be.

The shifter, although not quick at all, is immensely satisfying... You just 'cruise' in an R8, quickly.

If I had an extra few bucks I'd definitely take it.

The shift **** looks overly large and heavy but I'm sure it's nice for rowing the gears. I had no idea they made the V10 with a manual until I looked just now, probably pretty rare though.

There's one that lives near me, 6k kms on it, manual... Old guy owns it...

Haven't quite build up the nerve to ask to try it.

Yeah, not sure how that conversation would go. I have only let a really good friend drive my car. He is a better driver than I am. My Wife has not even driven it yet, hah.

I usually wait until offered, and, that I know I can afford to fix it if I bend it.

I had a great blast in the light rain and drizzle early this AM. It turns out there is something to be said for straight highways in light rain with fairly worn tires. All while squeezing every last bit of rubber from my old rear Falken's. Down by now to the wear marker on R rear, but still evenly treading. Left R still has a bit more of life, as i usually the case.

I hope my Kenda experiment I'll soon finally undertake doesn't "howl "- like my worn Falken's do.
