The whiteness of the fender liners in the pic is not dirt, it was UV fading and the plastic had turned gray/white, like you often see on unpainted plastic trim and bumpers on cars. I first cleaned the fender wells with foaming engine cleaner and a pressure washer with a 25* tip. After that, I used my heat gun to bring the color back out of the plastics (this is something you should only do once or twice as it is hard on the plastic since it works by melting the top surface and drawing oils out from deeper in the plastic). After that I gave them a couple coats of plastic trim restorer. Since this car lives in the garage now and will only see a couple thousand miles of use per year they will probably stay looking nice for quite awhile. I will probably need to reapply the trim restorer whenever I have the wheels off though.
i've had good success with Barebones...

slow week herre. im on vacatation but still like to cruise the forums. guessing everyone else is doing the same

didnt take the TT on this road trip as i still need to replace the fuel pump or atleast examine it, I did not want to get stranded and have to pony up big bucks for a repair at a porsche dealership.

I'll take it on the next one! hope y'all are having a good summer.

Not today but a couple weeks ago went to Lime Rock with some friends.

The red 996 is a GT3. I got some video following it. The first lap is slow because he is on Hoosiers. The second lap we get into it a little more. Yes I know I am a slow driver and I brake too much. Toward the end on the straight I am only keeping up with him, which is making me wonder if my car is down on power. I would have thought my car should close the gap.

That's a beautifully smooth surface.

Looks like a lot of fun.
