Read the tease artilce also. Looking forward to it. I do take exception to the line, "can be purchased anywhere between $25-$45k, depending on age and condition.

Yasir,
Words cannot explain how much I am enjoying Kevins transformation! He tells me the next upgrade (turbos/wastegate) will be just as, shall we say, transforming The thrill of driving with the upgrade as it is now, has literally made my neck muscles sore.

The car used to be mine - now belongs to a friend. He's done a bunch of work and tested a bunch of parts - mostly suspension/brake related so far. I can't wait to see the articles either as they should be interesting.

Are you talking about that teal X50 that's been for sale in WA forever with the chrome wheels? I remember seeing that thing all the time when trying to find my X50. The market has rebounded, so the price is less ridiculous than it was months ago, but it's probably still high and will need a very specific buyer. Not my cup of tea at all but certainly a unique car.

This is my car used for this project car series of articles, I do agree with you on the low end price right now. The article was written some time ago and research had showed those price ranges were available (although honestly I wouldn't buy one that was $25k...) They seem to have come up in price recently, mine was purchased for $32k USD in April 2010. It's in remarkably good shape and currently has ~70k miles on it.

Really looking forward to finishing the testing for these articles, car is really responding well to the modifications.

I can't say anything about what we have done until the magazine articles come out. I am looking to running down our current street car lap record at our local track, held by a '09 Dodge Viper ACR. Hoping to achieve this without resorting to a DOT R-comp tire (which the Viper ACR rides on with Michelin Pilot Sport Cups). Tough target but considering where my baseline currently is I think it's achievable.

I sent a comment in to the mag asking why no continuation of the series. I am a subscriber.
