The article was written some time ago and research had showed those price ranges were available (although honestly I wouldn't buy one that was $25k...) They seem to have come up in price recently, mine was purchased for $32k USD in April 2010. It's in remarkably good shape and currently has ~70k miles on it.

Really looking forward to finishing the testing for these articles, car is really responding well to the modifications.

I can't say anything about what we have done until the magazine articles come out. I am looking to running down our current street car lap record at our local track, held by a '09 Dodge Viper ACR. Hoping to achieve this without resorting to a DOT R-comp tire (which the Viper ACR rides on with Michelin Pilot Sport Cups). Tough target but considering where my baseline currently is I think it's achievable.

Series is still on going, author was very busy all summer with various projects and testing. Lots of modifications tested, not sure on when the articles will be completed and released though. Didn't get as much testing as I would have liked this summer due to work commitments...(always getting in the way)

Never got to r-comps and the ACR was safe lol, he did finally stop messing around and turned in some down right crazy fast laps in his ACR.

Many a 997 GT3 were left in tears though with brake and suspension mods to a relatively stock 996TT on street tires (honest 240 tread wear DOTs that were spec for the entire testing)

During the off season I will be dropping the drivetrain and doing a further series of power mods as well as preventative maintenance.
