Great post +1.

Awesome lap. My weight is (with 1 britax booster in the car, btw) 3223.

The kids in the back makes the turbo great...driving in snow with snow tires is pretty cool too.

I wish I had a lap to show y'all but the video system I was borrowing from a friend (POV VIO 1.5) uses a cig plug that doesn't stay in th elighter socket very secure and everytime it would lose contact the session would corrupt. I was not happy. I'll probably pick up a goproHD over the winter. Now that is a cool little camera.

Here is a video of the comprison car:

Dell,

Thanks for posting. The problem with your car as it is now is that you can't dial out the push as it is configured. That's why you have to throttle steer and trail brake to make it rotate, and that is going to cost you both in time and tires. Also, you are probably using only the outer 1/3 or so of the tread.

Sway bars will help, but you are still not going to be using a lot of the tread surface. To get more negative camber up front (I recommend -2.5deg) you'll need GT3 lower control arms. I add 14mm shims to go from street to track settings. You also need to adjust toe, but once you figure it out, you can just count turns on the tie rod ends. You should probably get the adjustable thrust arm bushings at the same time so that you can get the caster back to spec.

You can put the split control arms in the rear, and/or use adjustable upper dog bones and toe link. Most people also get a locking plate to completely eliminate the eccentrics for adjusting rear toe at the same time as the toe link.

You can do all of the above for under $3k.

Jon, you ain't kidding! I agree about the parts needed. However, I am just not in the mood to spend the cash right now. I'll probably add the ARB's and that's about it at this point.

Sometimes if you leave the parts catalog open to the right page, Santa Claus knows just what to buy...

Stick to your guns Dell, 209 is damn respectable with a real DD. Once you start really getting after the suspension it never ends, then it's just a so so track car and a miserable street ride. I would consider a set of adj gt2 sways, and that's it!

Agree 100% Chris. The only thing I can really think of suspension-wise that won't affect the plush ride of the street car is better toe arms with locking plates and adjustable ARBs. I will NOT go down the road of control arms, solid bushing/mount/etc, Motons, etc, etc, etc..

A wonderful thing has happened along the way. I have actually had to give a few poiny-bys Once you have to give one, what's a few more. It's THEN you realize you are not the fastest out there and a nice calm comes over you. Unless of course you get the red mist and start spending $$$ on suspension when you get home.

After that it will be strictly aesthetics. Or as they say on 6speed.....bling yo

245/40/18 (moving to 235/40/18 next since the 245's were VERY close to rubbing)
315/30/18

No rubbing.

I agree Dell, the ARB and toe links are plenty. But tell me what are the locking plates? Not familiar with them.

It's a kit that Tarret makes to prevent the eccentric bolt from moving by replacing it. Probably overkill but at least you know that it can move.
